  1. yeah, major disappointment. I wonder if the online store is not really done yet, or if they're only ever gonna offer "under summit wear" online. Now it doesn't matter whether you access "all items" och "under summit wear" - it's still the same...

  2. You went to the showroom? What was your opinion on this collection? AFAIK, Yohji is not something you often wear, but it would be interesting to hear your reaction to the clothes. I'm not very fond of the lookbook looks but perhaps the clothes/outfits were nicer/better presented in the showroom..? Looking forward to your pics.

  3. I still like that spot near the river. Bakery on the 1st floor and cafe on top.

Is this where Cafe Madeleine is someitmes/usually/always(?) parked?

If you're by yourself and looking for just a cup of coffee, I guess cow books works. everything for the freedom.

  4. yes, this thread needs more cafe recommendations. Will definitely check out Eau next time I'm in Tokyo. Thanks.

I think Sign is cool, mainly for the location though. Mother Kurkku and Escalator Cafe in Harajuku is/was decent.

Combine in Nakame had great and reasonably priced lunches the few times I went.

  5. sancha and nakameguro are probably pretty comparable in terms of pricing. both outside yamanote, but still great locations.

still, it all depends on the size of the apartment, when it was built, and how far it is from the station. I would say you can probably find a greater variety of attractive options in the Sancha area. Its more dense living though so trains are crowded, but arguably more dining choices, etc. Nakameguro apartments tend to be a little farther from the station, and many are really old for the cost. you just have to look around.

Also, fuck living in kichijoji. That place is fine for a day trip, but trekking into the city on the regular is inconvenient, not to mention trying to taxi home...

Yeah, I agree. There's definitely a nice variation of sake bars, restaurants and small clubs in the sancha area if you're looking around a bit. Like you said, Kichijoji is great for day trips but perhaps not for living. I figured Nakameguro might be more popular due to proximity to daikanyama and ebisu. On the other hand, sangenjaya is walking distance (well..) to both shimokitazawa and nakameguro. I wouldn't mind living in any of these areas.

  6. a couple pages back I said I would be staying in Koenji for the first half of August. well plans changed up and instead I'll be subletting an apartment in Sangenjaya with these 2 breezies. Thankfully this place will be much closer to where the action is...

how much are they paying for their place? I wouldn't mind living in sancha again, it's really nice. den-en-toshi in rush hour is terrible though, as mentioned. If I go back I figured I'd end up in koenji/kichijoji or some place similar since it'd be cheaper... I wouldn't mind nakame though. Would nakameguro be a lot more expensive than, say, sangenjaya?
