  1. Any good books in preparation of buying a bonsai? Saw a deal on Slickdeals for an indoor juniper but after reading around, it seems like I should do a bit more research.

Any reputable websites/stores would be appreciated as well.

I might go to Lowes/Home Depot and attempt to grow one with the knowledge I'll probably kill it, and then go for something a bit nicer.

  2. I posted that article in my first post actually.

I think it'll be nice for his work to be in galleries, because as many people have said, it is much easier to appreciate it up close. One of his ads he did was on eBay not too long ago but it seems as though very rarely things show up.

I almost pulled the trigger on the JPP but held out. The past couple toy release have been disappointing. I wish I was into his work when some of the companions and twins dropped.

  3. er, not sure itunes supports alac/flac? hook yourself up with some exact audio copy and make your life easier

iTunes definitely supports ALAC, but not FLAC. It would be pretty pointless for Apple to come up with a lossless codec and then not have it supported by iTunes, no?

You can CDs directly to ALAC, but EAC is obviously your choice if you want to pursue a FLAC-based library instead (not utilizing iTunes).

  4. well, i figure hi-fi nerds should know. what format actually is the best sound quality when ripping cd's with itunes?

Lossless (ALAC). Hence the name. Big file sizes but the bit rate is usually 800-1000kbps.

  5. Rebuying my (or rather- most anyones) entire collection on CD would cost a small fortune.

And unless I'm completely wrong about you and you bought all your music on CDs, then you realize how impractical that would be.

  6. Not sure if this is the appropriate thread but I've been attempting to re-download all my music in FLAC and convert to ALAC. There are some albums I can find on FLAC but a lot of them are missing. Any good websites that someone can recommend?

I've also considered going to the public library and checking out some CDs but I don't think they have the newer releases.

Just got a portable headphone amp for my Grados and am trying to give it the best source possible.

  7. I own the Andis Slimline and one of their regular clippers. I wouldn't use the Slimline for your head, the motor doesn't seem to have enough power for that. Get the slimline for doing around your ears, neckline and beard and get a pair of regular clippers for your head.

They pay for themselves in saved barber shop money in only 2 or 3 haircuts.
