I'm pretty interested in buying a pair of 5010's; I really like the cut. Although, I haven't seen much pictures of high contrasting fades (though that picture above posted by bchhun looks pretty promising.) Is it true that Skulls don't get much of contrast, but more an overall fade? Or is this just a weird conclusion made by looking at bad examples?

Why are people such huge fans of this guy?

Is it the Hedi Slimane connection? He isnt doing anything countless british frontmen havent done since the late 70s. And he cant even do us all the favor of killing himself a la Sid or Ian.

As for his style, when he isnt dressed up by Hedi or Kate, he looks like a sloppy mix of chav and Manchester hooligan. At least Shane MacGowan and Shaun Ryder have talent to justify their fame, what the fuck does Doherty have.

I'm quite interested in a pair of black coated jeans. But could someone tell me, when I buy a pair (lets say a pair of those Nudie's with the coating) and I wear it for like 6 months. Am I able to clean them somehow, without losing the coating? Could they be dry cleaned?

This is more than I expected from Kris after his S/S collection. I like this one better than that one, although it can't live up to Hedi's collections.

Anyone experianced any problems with the clasp? I'm afraid it might come off, cause it's standing up a little when closed. I can button up all the buttons, but the clasp has some pressure on it. I know they will stretch pretty fast, they've stretched from only trying on already, but how much will they stretch in the waist in the end? Like an inch hopefully?

Ok, i'm deciding between a pair of Skull 5010 6x6 or a pair of Flathead 3001. I like the cut of the skull's better, but I was wondering if it's possible to archive the same kind of contrast on a pair of Skulls that Sidneylo has on his Flatheads? Or it the contrast typical for the Flatheads?

Kind of weird question maybe:

Will the width of the legs shrink after the first soak? And how much will it be? Like an inch?

Could someone tell me; is it just me or does most japanese denim jeans look cheap? I mean, look at Skulls. In most pictures i've seen, they don't have that shine to them and when they're worn out, they get the color of a pair of those light 501's. Is this with all Japanese brands? Also, the texture looks really hairy.

Did you size down? I can't wear mine on my hips untill they stretch a full inch.

But to answer your question; I think they are meant to be worn on the hips. In fact, I think I once read that Touitou designed the jeans to be worn a little lower because French men tend to pull up their jeans too high for his taste.

I'm looking for a new pair of jeans. I would like to get myself a pair of Japanese denim; something in the veign of Skull and brands alike. Now, I have no clue about the models. When I check sites like BIG or Selfedge they never seem to look real slim or even skinny. I'm looking for a pair of jeans that has the same kind of slim/skinny cut as a pair of New Cures or 19cm's. Could someone suggest me to look into certain brands or models of jeans?

Well, i've always experienced that washing a pair of black jeans will make it lose it's color. It won't be the same dark black as before the wash/soak. You'd better bring those to the dry cleaner.

It's probably too late now, anyways.

I've posted in this thread before on applying for fashion school. I've been sketching body's, clothing and body positions ever since.

I'm still kind of worried, that I might not get in the school though. The will to learn and love for clothing is there, though some people turn me down by saying that I haven't been sewing since I was 4 years old; like some big designers did.

What do you people think? Is it more important to already be able to make clothing? But isn't it the whole point of going to a fashion school to learn how to design clothing and all the process around it?

They do, although they have changed the fabric and moderated the design a little.

I've looked all over to find answers in regards to these black stretches, to almost no avail. I just ordered a pair last night, and I was originally going to size down one, but they were sold out so I took a gamble with 2 sizes down. Should be getting them sometime next week, I'll let you know.
