  1. Oranienburger Strasse has some quite good bars and other erm... activities. Also, check out the shops/bars/restaurants to the north of Alexanderplatz.

My only regret about my time in Berlin is when my friends and I were too drunk to be allowed into Weekend; it was highly embarrassing.

  2. APC New Cure - As already stated APC are great beginner jeans. They fade quickly and the creases are every defined, I guess due to the lightweight nature of the denim. These are sanforized so don't shrink at all but they do stretch out a huge amount, so make sure you size down.

LVC 1947 501 - Another good beginners jean in a repro cut. These, in constrast the APCs, shrink quite a bit. I found my 32x34 came down to 30x31 after a hot wash. Denim is nothing special but will fade well. The cut is slimmer than most of the other LVC models with the exception of the 66 501 and the 67 505.

SExIH01 - These use the same denim as the other Iron Heart indigo models; really lovely denim. Again, these don't shrink very much but will stretch. I would suggest getting in the smallest size you can possibly squeeze into and let them stretch out. If you can't try them on, bear in mind that they run smaller than the tagged size. My size 30s measured exactly 29" in the waist new. The cut is excellent and the construction is top notch.

  3. Just thought it would best to post some different pictures of my jeans from further up this page. The stacking has softened up and now sits much better; I've decided not to get them hemmed, which I think is the right choice. They're the about the same length as my APCs anyway and I like how they stack now they're softer so I suppose these will be the same.

Once again, apologies for the bad pictures, I'm still waiting on a new camera.

  4. stick with it man dont alter it too much unless hemming.. theyre already good man dont fix em when its not broken..

I think that's good advice, I don't want to screw around with them too much. Looking at the leg they're pretty straight from the knee down, so hemming them a few inches isn't going to open the hem up that much. I guess I should start looking for a decent tailor though.

  5. I'm definitely considering having them hemmed an inch or two, and maybe also tapered slightly to bring the hem to 7". The only problem is I don't know any tailors around here that I'd trust enough to do the work. The stacking in the pictures I posted looks pretty weird I think but, like edmond says, they're still stiff. I guess I could send them away to be hemmed or wait for them to soften and see how they stack. Any suggestions on getting these hemmed?

  6. My SExIH01 arrived in the post today (though Royal Mail took ages delivering them).

Anyway, what do you think of the fit? I was able to get all the buttons done up first attempt, but my hips feel like they've been put in a vice. I was trying to get the size that would give the slimmest fit I could get with these; I assume I don't need to/won't be able to go down to a 29. Sorry for the crappy phone camera pictures, I'm currently without a real camera.

    Edit: For reference, I'm 5'11" and 138lbs.

  7. Thanks for the pictures, The D; the jacket looks really good. I see from your first post that you have a shirt made from their linen. I was just wondering how heavy that was? I'm seriously considering getting an unlined linen jacket from here.

Cheep, you didn't happen to get that jacket from stickhorse7 on ebay by any chance did you? I had the auction on my watch list but forgot to bid; picked up a shirt from the same seller though.

P.S. Nice oufit, really like those BiG X WH.

  9. The D, very informative post. I'd be interested to see some pictures of your jacket. Which model do you have? I've got my eye on the Overall Jacket, which from the looks of it on the website would make a great jacket for autumn (I don't really have a lighter weight jacket, only my heavy winter coat).

if you're dressing like a gentleman (wearing a suit), you should wear the hat of a gentleman, not a fucking hoodrat beanie. and before you ask: yes, it's still tacky, even if it's a $500 cashmere beanie.

These two posts say all that needs to be said really. Wear a smart hat with a suit; not a beanie.

  11. Ok, I'm stumped, so I'm enlisting the help of this thread. Basically, I'm going to be making my next purchase soon and I'm torn between the SExIH01 and the KMW Rocker. I'm looking for a very slim to skinny fit, so it's either to be a 30 in the IH or a 29 in the KMWs.

The thought of some lovely 21oz denim on the IH is my main reason for wanting them; however the lack of crease and fading definition this denim seems to acquire is slightly off putting. The rockers seem to be an easier choice, but I'm really not a fan of the coin pocket selvage and the fact they're only 13oz. Other than that I like the look of them. Price is not an issue, so what do you guys think?

Edit: Also considering Dior 19cm, in which I think I'd take a 28, but am I right in remembering the inseam is very long, i.e. ~37"?
