  1. noobs guide to jeans. get the right size and wear em. stop please.

HA, that shit brings back fond memories of guys sending desperate emails to Nudie, "OMZG! My jeans got caught in a rain storm! Are they fucking ruined!? Will they still fade!?"

  2. The inseams on mine? Both No.1s, the 2001s and 2000s, are 34", and I'd be very, very surprised if there was any more shrinkage to be had from them (!)

Yeah, that sounds about right, particularly if BiG' pre-soak measurements are any indication.

Has anyone dealt with returns at evisu.com? I swear they have indescribably terrible customer service. No one picks up the phone, no one answers emails. It's a disgrace to the brand that Evisu built.

Haven't talked to Matt in a minute......Not sure if he's even there anymore.

  3. I simply mean they are more difficult to fade. True, your lifestyle affects wear, but certain jeans require more to effort from the wearer (45rpm Jamon's for instance). Some, poorly dyed jeans lose most of their color with the first wash. But, true, it is all personal preference and subjective.

I swear i had an email from evisu (manager at savile row) telling me that d67 denim faded faster then d85

    Probably true.

  4. D67 is a fine example of why I have to slightly disagree when people say Heritage line is grossly inferior, or not on par with MIJ products. Some of the most stubborn fucking jeans I've ever dealt with, and heavy too.

    BTW, those are awesome.

  5. heritage fits suck too... its hard to get good fades is you dont want to wear the jeans... they almost seem like exaggerted jp cuts.

now, a jp 2000 cut in one of the more interesting heritage denims would be awesome.

0005 is a good cut IMO. You have to size down though. True to size is horrendous.

the denim is generally of a far inferior quality to what is available elsewhere.

I think it stacks pretty well in comparison to some of the Japanese brands I've dealt with, but, yes, there are better products out there, I'm certain.

  6. For me, the saddest indictment of Evisu's Western-aimed denim is the lack of pictures when it comes to decent faded jeans.

We've seen the ones on the blog, and we've seen maybe half a dozen pairs on here, in all 570 pages of this thread? And only one of them (in my memory) was D85 denim, the rest have been the 'special' denims such as the LHT and broken twill denims...For their 'standard' denims, there is next to nothing when it comes to eye-catching faded jeans, even amongst their fanbase...

Well, unfortunately, it seems people make an effort to avoid the heritage line in favor of its Japanese brethren; despite the line being readily affordable, the denim being made in Japan and the fact that, overall, it seems to be well constructed. It seems, and I'm not stating everyone believes this, that if doesn't have "Made in Japan" stamped on it, it must suck in some fashion. I think that's why many denim connoisseurs avoid it (not to mention its association with certain groups). Also, I believe most of Evisu's buyers aren't interested in fades as much as an image; though this has declined considerably.

  7. Well then that could be the case though i still have my doubts on that claim. Mind you i dunno if i would want to put too much trust on someone who claims their favourite jeans they own is simply "My Evisu selvedge jeans". Yeah good going on the detail there.
I heard that claim made before I read that interview. Most sites even describe the denim as Japanese denim.
Also they seem to make a point of saying the new No.1 and No.2 denim is made in osaka however leave it out for any of the other denim in the introduction to the new denim posts.

That same article also states " our Japanese Mills," and points out that that specific denim is manufactured by the kaihara corp.
they are not d85 again they are not if ever they are d85 ( which is a far cry! ) just the same selvedge
Nope, they don't sound similar. D85 is supposedly unbleached. I would like to see how they compare to each other though. Might be interesting.
  8. To be honest unless thats a special run you have the same NO.3 denim made in china as the other jeans you have. Its possibly a special run from the time when Evisu Japan made some Lot 2000's for the european market and i guess they then made some with the same denim for the Japanese market.

To be honest i would return as the whole point of getting them from japan is to get the better denim and the nicer details. You wont find many if any fade pictures of this in the japanese magazines. Unless you fancy keeping them just because of a slightly rarer red tab.

The heritage/european denim is made in Japan, but assembled as jeans in somewhere like Macau. Those jeans are probably made with similar denim, but assembled in Japan.

Man somebody cop this - this is so beautiful - i wish i could afford lol.

Can anyone enlighten me on the evisu deluxe brand?

    On sale at Oki-ni

    http://www.oki-ni.com/Mens-Jackets+Outewear/Evisu-Deluxe-Single-Needle-Jacket/invt/ev0039ind

Essentially, that particular jacket is made by a single individual using natural, vegetable dye indigo.

  9. Long post

For one, the No.1's off Evisu.com shrink to tagged size, so, you shoulda got a size 30, the Japanese evisu, as already explained, have to be sized up. And the 0005 inseam is pretty long, but the 200 cut isn't.
