  1. I'm the source. I visited the moto store in Tokyo last year and since making a purchase there, I am able to have them ship to me now. I was able to hook up Opie cause he wears the same size as me. I'm going back at the end of next month....I could probably grab a wallet or coin case while I am there.

  2. I'm generally a 12.5/13 in US Sizing. 12 in desert boots/gentleman travellers/whites. I really want those Motos. :(

A size 3 equates to (27 ~ 28cm). I think a 12 US is about 28cm. It's an expensive gamble, but well worth it if they fit. I love my MOTOs and can't wait to pick up another pair in a handful of weeks.

  3. Does anyone have contact information for moto? Size "2" is around 5 sizes too small for me.

Good luck. He won't respond to outsiders because he can't deliver the customer service that he wishes to provide. He doesn't want to sell shoes to someone who can't try them on and know that they fit proper.

What size shoes do you wear?

I wear a 2 in MOTOs, an 8.5 in Aldens with a Barrie last, and an 8.5 in White's Farmer Ranchers.

  4. Finally, some MOTO cordovan models are starting to show up.

Translated description of the 'dull cordovan':

MOTO new “cordovan†One foot which overturns common sense which finishes the high-class leather “cordovan†which uses the leather of the rear end of the horse with the hand dyeing only of MOTO. After natural to do the vegetable tanning securely, building up the pure original cordovan, it is the unique kind of completion where it paints the dye by the hand of the craftsman, differs from the general cordovan and is somber a little. Generally it is the cordovan which shoots considerable gloss, but when the cordovan is produced to that as MOTO, we say that because strange feeling is felt, the product of the cordovan was not made. Because of that, as for the latest this being somber individual the designer went to the origin of [tanna], looking at the cordovan which does not finish the completion, was born by the fact that you exclude the grading work of voicing the glossy impression mandatorily with the image which is different, became the cordovan just of MOTO. We use leather sole with Goodyear well Ted manufacturing method, it is the completion of the dress unlike work. The forum which is volume and aging makes upper already, although it is the new item, is a taste, makes the big existence impression feel already. It probably is sweeping, to insert oil and to polish and in the extent which is packed to bear gloss little by little from the part part, to create exquisite expression.

  5. Some new MOTOs from the F/W10 line are starting to come to light. Pretty good looking boots. I'm still on the lookout for his cordovan models which are supposed to be part of the new line.

A rework of his Monkey Boots:

    In Velour (roughout) too:

  6. Did I totally miss out on the Riders Dungarees? Where can I find a 34 (I think?) raw. Called MF store SELA and one other spot that carries his stuff. No one has them. Sad days for me. Any help would be great.

Try Bazar on Abbot Kinney in Venice (310-314-2101).

  7. I gave my jeans a second, and much hotter, soak. They shrank a significant amount more. I'm at a hotel and don't have a tape, so no measurements, but they shrank in all dimensions. They also lost a lot of starch; more so than during the first soak.

About the denim. The denim is stubborn and unforgiving and much more stiff than other denim of the same or higher weight. The weave seems tighter than other cone denim I've handled. My girlfriend and I wonder if this is how denim in the 50s differs from today's denims.

  8. Just ordered a pair of 31x32's from Mister Freedom. Excited for them to arrive. My actual waist is 31.5 so I'm hoping they'll fit fine after a hot soak and hang dry. I decided to size down so I wouldn't have to worry about hemming.

After seeing mine shrink, I'd advise against a hot soak if you want the waist to be 31.5. That's what the waist of my 32 is after a not-so-hot soak.

  9. Looking at my fit pics and Christophe's pics and notes, I am pretty sure he is going with the wear 'em raw sizing. I could have sized down, but then never washed them, but that's not practical for me.

The first thing I need is a hem. I am short and need a good 3" chopped off. And that will help with the slop and the cuff.

As far as the pockets, they are big. I think once the denim loosens up a bit, the ass and pockets should fall into place.

They might seem like traditional 5 pockets, but they Mister Freedoms, so tradition isn't what it's cracked up to be.

My initial reaction was "shoulda gone a size smaller". But as I study the front picture of the jeans, I realize there's a couple things that can be done to improve the situation (knee and thigh slop) if he's comfortable with that size. Starts with the shoes.... first off I hate the color and the style and that instantly distracts me from the jeans. Second, they're too flat, and that effects your posture and how the jeans hang. I've noticed quite a difference in how my own jeans look on me going between a pair of Purcells and a pair of harness boots. You need something with more heel and sole to it.

Next, I'd try cuffing the jeans higher, and with a wider cuff (and prefereably a single rather than double cuff if you can get away with it). That will get rid of some of the slop at the knees. And I think I wider cuff will make the ankle area look bigger, making it appear better porportioned to the thigh and hips (which look kinda wide).

The rear? The pockets are way too big, and the ass is a bit dumpy, but that should settle down with some wash and wear.

IMO, with a little tweaking and some wear, tfhe jeans should look fine.
