Felt exhausted so only cooked omelette, chips and peas. Watched episode one of the last series of the Sopranos. Drank a litre of ginger beer and smoked a few jimmy cliffs before taking a knockout pill and going to bed.

No Depression (for American music)
That's it. i-D lost its way some 20 years ago and all the other 'style' mags can be viewed on the stand or at the hair salon.

Rumours of a Hurricane - Tim Lott. Riveting stuff. A book about ordinary people living in London throughout the turbulence of the eighties it's funny and tragic; a very moving book.

I was in the Regent St. store yesterday and they've pactically sold out so unless you're a weird size like a 40" waist you might be out of luck. They also told me they're not expecting further deliveries, but I didn't have much confidence in the sales assistant issuing this information so it's not gospel.

Examine both the current and archive collections. They're expensive but you can mix and match the colours of the frames and arms.

A word of warning about those 'razor combs', if the blade isn't sharp enough it doesn't sever the hair, it pulls it out from the roots and is unbelievably paintul. I learned this by having an arse-hatted mother who insisted on regularly ensnaring my childhood locks in one of those contraptions. I doubt she ever changed the blade either. It was a lasting childhood trauma and has given me a deep rooted fear of hairdressers' tools, much like some people are scared of dentists' drills. If anyone came near to me with one of those things now, I'd run like the wind.
Currently I use a Wahl with no guard settings and take it down to the wood, then when it grows out I get the back and sides neatened at a barbers. When that grows out I begin again with the trimmer...

They're definitely black, tundra.

Nice to meet you all. I lost the posse at the bar in Clissold Park, but fortunately met some old friends who gave me a lift all the way home which was a blessing. After all that sun I was too f*cked to have made it to Boombox anyway. Hope you all enjoyed yourselves.

These are definitely slim straight in the fit. I bought a pair on Saturday and they're the nearest to skinny I can get away with. They're certainly cheap at £39.95 ($80) and I would liken them to APCs in construction - with a lightweight denim, perhaps 12oz. They're in no way a substitute for premium Japanese denim or even brands like Nudies but still represent good value for money.
As per SuFu instructions I sized down one, gave them a cold soak, line dried them in the sun and ironed them inside out to rid them of the wrinkles. I'll get a pair in black later on.
If anyone's interested I'll put up the measurements.

Renting or buying anywhere in travel zones 1 and 2 will be costly. It's dependent upon your budget, but try east and also south east London as they're more affordable. Public transport links are generally quite good.

Hi CottonDuck.
Tagged and actual waist size are the same: 34" and I want 33"ish.
Inseam is 35" and I'm not too fussed about length because I'm about 30"(ish) and will hem them when all the shrinkage has taken effect.
Mr Black. That's exactly what I was going to do, but was seeking an ideal temperature and length of soak time. Have you seen the oki-ni sale, BTW?
Thanks all

I've just purchased two pairs of unsanforised raw denim jeans: Duffer/oki-ni collaborations, with a 34” waist and 35” inseam and I’ve been told to expect 7 to 10% shrinkage. They’re a little big around the waist (I'm 33") so I want to shrink them slightly before wearing and hemming. How long should I soak them for and at what temperature?

Interstate in London stock them. I bought a pair in May. The cut is very full and wide, making them very baggy in the leg. I like them and they're a good cut for older denim obsessives, because skinny jeans on men over 30 look ridiculous.

My Nashville's are tagged at 32 but measure 34. My Waynesvilles are tagged 34 but measure 36. I suspect that a very hot soak might give some shrinkage but being sanforized there won't be much. Wear something tucked into them and a belt if they're too big. Until they get a hot wash, much further down the line, they'll stay loose around the waist.
