Impressive wasn't it. Still struggled to work out what was what, but a beautiful sky. -

Ooooh you gotta love a quiz. Size down craze.. No Slept in jeans.. Yes, but more drifted off for longer than I intended Diors.. hell No Fancy wallet.. nope Engineer boots.. had a pair i wore in my 20's. Still have them but theyre crumpled to fuck and probably unwearable Ocean wash.. No Resolute washing / fit having previously not.. No Never washing.. No. Urrrgh. Dirty boys. Coffee wash.. nope Slubby or streaky.. slubby yes, but nothing too extreme. Actually, I have some Oni concrete denim, but I didn't pay for them. Heavy oz denimz.. see above. 20oz. Joined a contest.. nope. I'd like to, but I always seem to be skint when they come about. Joined a tour.. Yep. Leroy Strauss tours on Denimbro APC.. Nah Fancy washing detergent.. Nope. Tesco's hand wash liquid. Worn denim while raw.. Yes. But only for a week or two. Paid for an expensive repair.. No. Wallet jewelry.. No Numerous pairs of very expensive boots.. Not on this level, but expensive to me. Numerous pairs of identical jeans.. according to my wife, yes. They're all identical. But what does she know eh.? Numerous fancy leather belts.. not fancy, but made it myself. Native American Japanese jewelry.. love the look, but no. Jacket suitable for the Arctic.. sort of. Frizmworks Karakoram. Does that count? Unreadable Japanese language magazines.. loads Dressed like a sailor.. I prefer to call it sailish 🙂 Dressed like a miner.. I prefer to call it mine-adjacent. Colored weft denim: No Has at least a decade's worth of denim in the closet, unworn? Most of it's been worn to a degree, but I doubt I ever NEED to buy another pair of jeans or jacket. Let's put need to one side though. Bought jeans nobody else owned.. No Barf / Man stain / Shit oneself in jeans.. Happy birthdays Martin & Charlie. If it helps, you're both equally handsome. (Or perhaps equally ugly) -
Please do. I genuinely enjoy doing them.

Hi all, For those that don't know me, I spent the last 3.5 years or so working at Son of a Stag/Soldier blue in London, UK. If any of you had any repairs done by them during that period, it's very likely to have done by me. I've now left SoaS and have moved down to the Kent coast where I'm going to spend more time making bags and leather accessories (wallets, keyrings & the like) I'm also set up to take on jeans repairs. So, if any of you want anything done, please do get In touch. Will be very happy to give you a price. Below are a couple of before and afters I did. Sadly l can't justify the cost of a chain stitcher so I unable to offer shortening. Apologies for the blatant promotional post 🙂 Martin

Pretty perfect Sunday. A chilly walk across the top of the white cliffs, followed by the best pub roast I've had in years, in a 400 year old pub set in a village with my name. For those not familiar with the white cliffs of Dover, this is britains biggest man made structure. And along with the Great Wall of China, pyramids of Giza etc, it's one of just a few man made structures that can be seen from space. Construction was started during the napoleonic war to dissuade the french navy. It was further fortified from the 1st world War onwards to the scale seen today. Fun fact, it gets a fresh coat of paint every 5 years and uses over 350 tonnes of paint each time.

How much?£?£? (Spits out tea) I watched a 'walking with Jim Moir' programme the other day after being tipped off that he visited the sound mirrors. @doubleO- your pictures are lovely.

Today's adventures took us to the Romney marsh sound mirrors. These big and rather beautiful concrete structures were built in the inter-war years along the south coast. They were designed to act as an early warning system for approaching aircraft but were effectively made redundant by the introduction of Radar. The area is now a nature reserve. You can only get right up close to them on certain days. This wasn't one of those days 😀 Next up, a bit Further along the coast to Dungeness which is a strangely bleak place. There seem to be quite a few artists in residence living in various shacks. Many other dwellings look to be airb&b's Derek Jarman famously lived there.

Semi retired. I'm in the process of setting up my workshop which I hope to have up and running in the next couple of weeks. Once that's done I intend to get back to making things to try and sell (bags, leatherwork, try my hand at making a jacket or two), and be in a position to take on denim repairs and alterations. Sadly I can't afford a 43200g so no chainstitching 🥺

Yeah. It is. Very different vibe to London. We can even see France from our balcony.
-
We're in Hythe. And yeah, Romney , Hythe and dymchurch railway. Not been on it yet. We'll save that for a warmer day.

I moved away from London recently. Wife and I cashed in, jacked in our jobs and moved down to the Kent coast. The kids joined us today for xmas so we gave them a short walking tour. We're near a lot of military land. This is one of their shooting ranges. It's in pretty regular use but I've not heard any shots fired for the last few days We have a miniature steam train that starts near us l, runs for about 13 miles and ends in a place called Dungeness which is unofficially Britains only desert and is beautifully bleak and desolate. It's shadowed by a nuclear power station that is being dismantled (we're heading there tomorrow so will take some pics). We get to hear the whistle and see the steam from our house which is lovely to hear and see. We find it much more exciting than our kids do.

I picked up one of the sweats at the weekend. Dark grey marl, size Medium. Really happy with it. Mid weight. Prob similar to the duck digger/warehouse sweatshirts. Good cut and shape. Boxy and short with a nice deep waistband and cuffs. I'm told that shrinkage is minimal and will report back once I've washed it. Already a firm favourite.
