  1. SWB. Jeans stretch all over, from the thighs to the ass to the waist. These stretches are all based on your body moving the denim around from your day to day actions. Your example of you buying a size 26 and it strecthing 7 inches is completely stupid, because you couldn't get those size 26's around your waist anyways. Now, you took me too far, I never implied a size 26 would stretch to Shaq's size if he wore it enough, because there isn't enough fabric on the jean for that to happen. But for you to say jeans don't stretch differently according to body types is completely foolish. I wear the same size in Dior Homme as a lot of people around here and on their WAYWT all of our jeans have stretched differently becasue we aren't all mannequins of eachother.

And if you're curious how far 30's would stretch, just use yourself as an example. If a 33" waist went to 35.5", considering a size 30's waist is 31.88 inches so, 32 inches, it would probably stretch out to 34.5 / 35 because you clearly wear them in an area that stretches them out to that size. Going down to a 29 would be overkill because then the ass would become saggy as the jeans grip your legs like some girl you'd see on Hypebeast.

As I said, there's a little room for variance, but obviously sizing even one down would almost certainly have different end results. 34.5 would be a fantastic fit comparatively to my current pair. Also, it doesn't make sense to imply that my body shape is responsible for their current fit, because I literally have NO ass whatsoever, and fairly slim hips, yet that is apparently where they are loosest.

im confused, is the picture on the right column a tighter size than the left? the left doesnt suffer the bulge so much as the right. in any case, it may have something to do with the way your hips are shaped. i also have the same problem but i decided not to sacrafice slimness for weird bulges. I find it when i pull up my back pockets, the hip bulge goes away. but comes right back when i let go of them. try wearing them lower.

whats that current size you are wearing? you can try sizing up.

btw, whats your height, weight and thigh measurement? that might help.

No the picture on the right is the same size, Just a different pose essentially. I did that to illustrate specifically the weird hip buldge, which just makes no sense to me considering these are supposed to be such a slim fit (I've seen that bulge on at least 75% of people's 19cms though, regardless of fit). It's funny, people keep saying to "wear them lower", but they are literally a millimeter away from falling off my hips at that current height. Pulling them up does help slightly, but there still just seems to be some weird excess of fabric around the upper thigh/below the back pockets.

I'm 6' 2", about 160, with a 20.5" thigh measurement. Currently wearing size 31. Sizing up is exactly the opposite of what I need, though. Like I said, after hot-soaking these for an hour, the fit was PERFECT, with about a 34" waist measurement.

  2. They stretch to your size

Not everyone's body is the same

Therefore, if a true waist 32 buys 30 and a true waist 33 buys a 30, how are "the stretched measurements" going to be the same?

The idea that they "stretch to your size" is completely specious reasoning. Denim is a fabric, and like all fabrics, it can only stretch so far. By your logic, I could buy these in a 26 and they would eventually stretch out to nearly 7" larger than they started.

The problem is that since they are a relatively higher-rise cut, as well as one that stretches so much, the waist on a pair of 19cm will not sit at your waist for very long, the rise itself will bunch up and shrink in perceived height, and thus the waist measurement will eventually have little correlation to your true waist size. While there is certainly a little room for variance, it makes no sense to suggest that any size you buy will automatically "stretch to your size." If I recall, these 31s started out with a 33" waist, and ended with about 35.5". I would estimate that it's physically impossible for a pair of 30s to do the same. I'm just curious how far they do stretch, generally speaking.

  3. Can anyone with a pair of 19cm in a 30 tell me the stretched measurements? (Preferrably after at least a couple months of wear). I posted a while ago regarding the weird fit and extreme stretching of mine (size 31, 35.5" waist now), but since then I did a hot soak and they shrunk down to 33.5-34", and the fit was perfect. Of course they've stretched back out again, and currently look like this:

The basic response I've gotten is that sizing down wouldn't help, but it seems to me the problem is just an excess of material around the upper thigh in the back:

    DiorsFlare.jpg

I have really skinny thighs and hips, no ass whatsoever, so I understand what's causing that (I've had trouble with almost every brand / model I've ever tried, only Bootcut Olas fit perfectly through the thigh, though the rest of the cut didn't really work for me). Either way, as I said these 19cm fit perfectly when the waist is around 34", so I'd be interested to hear some post-stretch measurements on other people's 30s and 31s.

In fact, it would probably save everyone a lot of headaches to compile some sort of pre/post-stretch measurement list, it seems like people get some fairly different results in the same sizes.

  4. Just bit the bullet and ordered this blazer:

    m2mblazer.jpg

I'm expecting maybe H&M quality, but the cut and measurements seem spot-on.

Also, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned previously, but the minimum order for free shipping has been reduced to $99, and you get a free $5 off coupon for signing up. I researched a bit on other forums, it sounds like people have been generally satisfied with the quality. Either way, I'm sure we're all anxiously awaiting a decently in-depth review from someone.

  5. Oooh, I wonder what's in this box?

    img1969hm2.jpg

    Hooray!

Does that "Matt Black" Margiela rip-off actually have a Margiela tag too? This shit is so ridiculous. I saw your post in the yesstyle.com thread, but how's the quality compared to AA?

  6. I don't see how getting a smaller size would've solved anything... can you explain? As far as I can see, they would be a bit tighter but following the same shape as that's how your body is. The jeans as they are right now aren't even as loose in top block as most people wear them.

Just sag them a bit more... might solve the problem. They're pretty high.

The first week they were slightly uncomfortable, then the following month they were perfect, it has only been in the past couple months that they've become unrealistically stretched out in the waist. That picture probably isn't the best, I actually do wear them quite a bit lower, but they just kind of lose all form in the top block when I do that. Sizing down one would (hopefully) solve some of the weird flaring out just under the back pockets, which is really only a product of too much material width-wise.

lol, i don't think anyone would want to buy them considering the now stretched out waist.

keep wearing them and shrink them when you wash them... and shrink your waist a bit to accomodate.

i would've thought going down two sizes would be enough.

As said in the first post, I only went down one. I wear a 32 (aka 34ish actual waist) in most unstretching denim, so I went for a 31 here, which I was told would stretch to about a 34 or so actual waist. I definitely don't agree that no one would want to buy them, they would likely fit perfectly on anyone who's normally a 33.

Would they actually shrink appreciably in the wash? I was under the impression that only the inseam would shrink, not the waist.

So is it safe to say that we should get 2 sizes down from our usual size? Or 4 sizes as advised by SWB? Do they really stretch out of control? I'm about a 30. does that mean I should get a 26?

Actual waist means the real-life measurement of my waist. A 32 in most jeans fits a 34 actual-waist. Thus, I only sized down one, and am suggesting that due to the INSANE amount of stretching on these, sizing down two would've been preferable.

    *stays out of above hatefest*

SWB: how did your 31's fit before the stretch? Were they super tight at first? Did just the waist stretch or was it also in the ass area which looks really baggy now?

I don't know where you measure your waist, but my low waist/hips is around 34, so pretty close to yours. I can barely fit in a 30 and it looks rather obscene, at least pre-stretch. The 31 fits me well when they are brand new.

Still not sure how to size my next purchase.

When I first bought them, it took maybe a couple of hours before they would fully button up, I think the waist measurement before any stretch was 33 or so. Everyone told me they would only stretch about an inch in the waist, but apparently it was more like two and a half. I'm not sure whether it was only the waist, I imagine they rest of the top block / thighs stretched considerably also though, since these looked much better during the first month.

It's hard to give sizing advice now though, basically it boils down like this:

31s fit great through the first month of stretching, then have declined more and more since then. So if you go for 30s, I would expect them to be ridiculously tight at purchase, tighter than you'd want for a full month+, then finally 3-4 months in they would probably fit perfectly. I'm just confused as hell about how far they've stretched, and for how long. I always heard APC were the worst with stretching, but even they are supposed to stretch only 2 inches, as opposed to the 2.5 of my 19cm. Anyway, that's about as comprehensive as I can get. I still loved the fit during the first month more than any other denim I've ever owned, so I'm not sure what the deal is.

  7. The following is a warning to anyone purchasing 19cm:

    Diors.jpg

I sized down one (to 31) on the advice of many people here, and they have now stretched to 35.5 fucking inches. Obviously the top block looks like shit now, I'm actually fine with the rest, but regardless- damn.

If anyone's interested in these, I think I might sell them and pick up some silver selvedge 19cms in a 30. What do you think, is 30 the right mark? My actual waist is about 34.5".

  8. Not to hijack, but can anyone else verify how these Dior sneakers run in size? I've heard a couple people say they run big, some say they run small, and then eLuxury says they run true to size.

I just bought the white w/ white strap in a 45, waiting for them to show up but I'm a true 12 so just wondering if they'll be too big. Hey, it's a free bump.

  9. It's about 11.5 inches. I don't think you can fit a laptop in there. The larger bag, which is 680, should fit a small laptop. Also, Dior and the other stockists are out of the smaller bag, I did pick up the last of the larger bags in case you wanted it :).

Sorry for not getting back with you sooner on this, I haven't checked this thread in a while. I actually found the larger bag on Ebay for $200 NWT, and it fits my MBP like a glove. Thanks, though! Hope there's no problem returning / selling the one you picked up.

EDIT: also, pretty much anything Snoop's ever said is quote-worthy.

  11. There are in fact two sizes, I have that bag in the smaller version. I think the larger bag is around 800. Do you want it?

What would the dimensions be on the larger one? The one at Diabro is $520 and 28x32.5cm, so if I can fit a 15" Macbook Pro in that I'd probably want to stick with that size. Is there any chance you could measure the inner width of yours? Basically I'd just need it to give about half an inch on each side with those dimensions. Also, how much is the smaller one at DH? I'll probably get this in a few weeks, but I'd definitely prefer going through you than Diabro as long as it's cost-effective.
