  1. Thanks rocco, what size would you normally wear in mf jackets? For example I am 42 in deck jacket (usually XL in shirts) but got a 38 ranch blouse. Looking at the 40 for rodeo blouse.

My veste ouvrier is a 102, which translates to a large I guess. I have a Flathead type 1 jacket in 42, a Stevenson saddle horn jacket in 40 and a Buzz Rickson hook deck jacket in 40. Usually L in shirts. Sounds like a 40 will work for you.

  2. Does anyone have any experience of the hickory striped rodeo/ranch blouse from the F/W 2011? I would like to know how much it shrinks upon soaking/washing. I know people had all sorts of experiences with the ranch blouse and it's odd sizing across the board. The jackets were not rinsed at the store so it's new to MF guys too! Thank you.

Mine did shrink quite a bit after two soaks. I did not take measures, so I couldn't tell you exactly how much. I went with a 40, which is still a bit on the roomy side - might have listened to John, who advised a 38. Odd sizing indeed. But it's ok now, and a nice jacket it is.

  3. I'm looking for a Flathead Wabash shirt in a size 40. If anyone has one they aren't wearing/ can't fit/ etc. hit me up. Thanks!

I have an unworn one in the closet, I sent you a pm.

  4. nice tote bags!

i gave my wh800 to a good friend of mine as he was kinda interested in raw denim and stuff and i can't see myself wearing them in in the near future. he studies for one semester in groningen and has the pair now for nearly a week. and what happened on tuesday to him? some guy at a party asked him if he wears a pair of warehouse jeans from japan. in my 5 years of raw denim i've never been asked by a stranger what jeans i wear :D

In Groningen! It wasn't me, I just moved from there to Leeuwarden.

  5. I had one of these APC type II's before but I got it off the supermarket and it was too small. I'd be willing to get another one directly from APC, but does anyone know if this model is consistently in production? I know APC usually does a jacket each season but I want to make sure I get one with the same details as this one.

The length may vary, if I'm not mistaken. It's not on their website right now, but that doesn't mean much perhaps. I've had the same jacket since some ten years, with some nice fades. Yeah yeah, I should put pics up, I know.

  6. Got my black BR sweatshirt from SE today. Great shirt, i have no problem with the new fit. Two inches shorter would have been too short for me. Only thing is: black is not really black on this one, more like a very dark grey. Not a big thing. I'm thinking of buying this one in olive too, does anyone know where I should be headed? Japan I guess?

  7. So much want the BR X WG deck jacket.......1 left.......my size........wife would kill me.......too much money spent in the last few weeks.......must consider if the jacket would be warm enough for me to survive outdoors after the wife has thrown me out.

I would have picked up this jacket if i didn't already have the navy BR version. My favorite jacket, really warm too.

  8. ha thanks :) she said something about Philharmonie so that's why I changed it.

yeah, I know where to get my denim ;) you're from there? or studied there?

    I thought so....

The theatre is called De Harmonie, hence the confusion. I live in Groningen but I work a lot for the Leeuwarder Courant, writing about music and culture and stuff, so I go there all the time. Girlfrend studying there?

  9. Hey shinobi2000, they are first dyed with different color vegetable dyes and then overdyed with indigo (Ai, I think). And yeah, the colors only show with fading.

rocco, wait till the colors start to show, it's a riot!

Yeah, looking forward to that. As I said, great jeans anyway. Given th price point, I doubt if it's Ai (natural indigo) though. They fade quite a bit faster than my SC40400 too. Could be wrong though. (and yes, fade they do, colours come slow but they will!)

Thanks again Lance for pointing me in the right dietion with these.

  10. Hey rocco - Yep, I bought the one wash version from Kiya (he ordered them for me) since the raw version was not available. hmmm, how long? I'd say within a couple of months; I saw yellow peaking through first, then various shades of blue then red. I wash my jeans frequently and crawled around doing strucutral inspections in them - so of course, color will show sooner with washing and wear but it will also start to fade too. Great to hear you received them and let's see your progress; they are a fun pair of jeans.

Well, with my (not extremely active) lifestyle this will take quite a while. Good thing I already love the denim as it is! I'll be patient and wear them a lot the next months, they feel like a great pair of summer jeans.

  11. I got quite some shrinkage. I might soak them once more, but then again, a roomy cut is a roomy cut. Did you get the one wash version? At what point did the rainbow colours start to show?

  12. My Rainbow Oki's (SC40701) arrived a week ago, thanks to Lance who pointed me to Pants Shop Avenue. No trace of the rainbowish nature of the denim yet, but I just love the texture of Okinawa denim anyway. They're lightweight and roomy (maybe a bit too), a great pair for the summer and an interesting departure from my heavyweight, slim DBxSFxSxS12. I'll try to get a camera to document the evolution.
