  1. Levi still makes 501's at their San Fran plant. 99% are now made overseas or south america, but if you know where to look you can still get USA 501's (not LVC's either!)

But I just buy t he LVC's myself.... which as far as I know are all US made...

  2. What's up with this pack? I actually forgot they went on sale on the 1st.

But if I have a big foot... say 11.5. They assume I wear a 40 inch waist and have a 34 inseam and wear a 3XL shirt?

Who are they selling it to? The midwest America?

  3. I'm tellin' you greg... get them in an 11C and when you're done just sell them to me...

Awesome idea! Can't wait to see them.

TMADD i love the cigar indys...

I just bought two new pairs of LVC... 55's and 37's. I think it'll be nice to see some dark indigo next to my 405s...

  4. Chicken: those jumpers turned out awesome great job!

Now a question to everyone... I saw on the lone wolfs that they have cats paws. but I'm sure their reproduction cats paws. Does anyone know how exact they are in actual material to the original? Are they just rubber soles that look like cats paws or am I questioning something that really shouldn't take up anyones time in questioning?

  5. Alden factoids from my visit there today:

-- Harrison Ford was there about 3 weeks ago and bought a pair of Indies. The sales guy who told me this was surprised at how short Ford is compared to how he's portrayed in his movies. Like 5'7" or something..

I find it hard to believe that Harrison Ford would have to buy his own pair of Indies.

That's like Tom Cruise having to buy his own pair of rayban wayfarers.

I think that salesman was trying to make a sale...

  6. This sounds sarcastic, but it's a sincere question to the collective wisdom here. Why don't folks talk about Timberlands? They seem to be really popular with folks in general (non SuFu-ers). I know why I'm not crazy about them, but what do others think? After all, we talk about so many other brands and styles of boots...

There are a lot of great work boots out there, but I'd say 99% of the people here have never worked in a place where a work boot of any kind was mandatory.

Most of the boots shown here are not made for the type of work that a boot like timberlands were made for. A boot like a timberland is really made to last about 6 month to a year until it's thrown out and a new pair is bought. I doubt anyone here would want their $300 -$1000 boot to last 6 months and then get a new one...

  7. they used to sell those black boots alot in catalogs in the early 80's. I think they called them a tanker boot.

You could get the jungle, tanker and I forget the other style but that's what I remember...

I haven't seen them for a while and actually wouldn' t mind a pair myself...

  8. The tongue on my Indys, right shoe, is turning to the right. Is there anyway of correcting this or should I have a cobbler sew in pieces of elastic that keep the tongue in place? I've seen it on tennis shoes, just wondering if it can be done with Indys as well.

The black Indys are real nice. I'll have to check out the ones that Tom has coming into Leather Soul in a couple months. I'm not too crazy about the commando sole though.

I had the exact same problem in my indy's. I sewed the tounge to the shoe at the top.

I posted some pics of it on this thread sometime in september I think... I'll try to do a search for them and repost them for you.

  9. it's all in just doing it. I usually don't wear a suit with it as my job doesn't usually require one. I go mostly with the work wear look with it. But if it's cold enough I have a nice A2, or Aero Half belt I usually go with. But I do have some vintage jackets also that look nice with a fedora. Fedoras and leather go well together. Of course just a nice pair of shoes and a fedora go well together too. As long as your fedora's isn't bright red or orange...
