how much do the 511's shrink when washed and dried?

how much do they stretch out?

and how is the black stretch 511 different in these to aspects?

These levis are sanforized so I can't imagine a whole lot of shrinkage. Haven't really worn mine yet so I couldn't tell you how much they'll stretch after wearing them. The black are called stretch most likely because they have a synthetic stretch material in the denim, rather than being 100% cotton like jeans without stretch.

Actually come to think of it I think it was the "dry organic" one.

Dry organic was the cheapest around 165 then the regular dry was about 190 i think. The masa cut is based off the even steven but there are apparently some differences and its japanese selvage denim.

Should I be starching them as well? I find that I have a lot of creases in them. Would this help to set these creases and indigo? Should I air them out when not in use?

I think the reason for this ( at least for me) is when using a button fly I always undo ALL the buttons, with a zipper I'd always keep the button at the top attached. So when you have that top one undone you can always feel the difference and you wouldn't forget the rest while doing the top.

I am rather new and have been wearing raw denims for a few weeks now. I wear commando and have not been able to get an indigo stained ballsack. What am I doing wrong? Should I starch more? Should I wash them differently? Do I need better denim to do this? Will buying selvage help with this? Should I post pictures so you guys can help me? Thanks

If you're located in the states these have been sold since around March of 2006. They were being sold in Levis stores since then and were shortly pushed into other stores after.

whats the diff between 511 and 514? also does anyone have a pic of them while wearing them? hard to see what it fits like when its just lying on the floor

The 514 is a straight leg while the 511 is super tapered. I had to size up one to fit into these and they're still extremely tight. ( I got the rigid). I love the fit of these though, I love a tight low rise jean and I think fit is a great cheap alternative to Nudie's Thin Finn or Hobokens from Julian Red.

Levis Copper I think has my favorite predistressed jeans right now

Some serious distressing on redcast denim with intense copper rivets ( originally I thought they were actually copper but now the site reads that it's painted? Not sure) They have several fits and I personally just love the color of the denim.

Actually if anyone knows of anywhere online you can purcahse these please let me know, but I think they're only available in levis stores in asia

Shame all the coated jeans have bullshit creasing on them otherwise I'd be inclined to pick up a pair.

The fit is pretty decent on the jeans actually, but the quality of the denim is a bit shit. Never seen anyone wearing them trying to get them to fade, in fact pretty much every guy I've seen in a pair has even left the factory turnups showing the rather ugly selvedge lines in place.

Also they've jumped on the Nudie-ripoff ES/TF fit bandwagon that a lot of labels like Dsquared seem to be also doing, loose top and slim legs. Only comes in a terrible distressed cut at the moment, will be interesting to see if they do a raw version of that cut.

I don't know what the fuck is up with those creases either. I even planned on buying a pair of grey 511s and trying a coating project but they have the creases already too. I honestly like the even steven and thin finn fits as long as it doesnt get any wider in the hips. i HATE the carrot fit that pumaxevisu,cheap monday, and levis copper are all trying to popularize

Although I have no idea about fit or quality, I was just looking on the topman website and it looks like they have some pretty good looking products.

The pictures make me feel a bit uneasy about the fit. But they have a coated pair of raw jeans for like 70usd so I might have to give them a shot.

I didn't get a pair cause I recently just picked up a pair of APC new cures so I don't really need the wlliamsburg attempt at it but I figured I'd let everyone know cause there was some talk.

In case anyone is interested they've finally dropped the prices on the Williamsbourg. They're now $29.99 at the Philadelphia store so I'm assuming they will be elsewhere. They're running out of sizes pretty quickly though.

This probably could have been asked in the small questions thread. That being said there's tons of possibilities and it all depends on how much you're willing to spend. You can get raw cheap from Cheap Monday, or Nudies which raw run around the cost of APCs, the Kicking Mule Workshop, Dior, or the Japanese brands which all run higher. Just looking at this site you probably could have determined some brands before making a post like this.
