I would want something light. I mostly wear the standard black 70s though I do have a pair of blue flannel and a custom maroon suede.

Coming out of lurk mode to ask a small, non-denim question:
Anyone have a recommendation for replacement laces for the 70s Converse? The laces always break before I'm ready to retire the show and I can't locate anything that feels/look like the original lace.

Nope, that is wrong. The Banner Denim isn't that old. The 660 used the 1000XX denim just like Setterman wrote. He is probably our local Warehouse expert together with aho.
Ah, I get them confused. Copy that. Thanks for the clarification!

I remember the SuFu 660 being special because it was the first time Warehouse used the Banner Denim on a dubbleworks cut. They continued to make a 660 in the banner denim for BiG if I remember correctly.

This look can look cool but it doesn't all of the time and it might be a bit played out by now.
I think it's definitely peaking. Wider Legs coming in will help cool it off too.

as mentioned on the first page, it'll be 'fitted' (or even tight) top silhouettes with looser denim/trousers.
Yeah, perfect storm brewing for that: 90s nostalgia going full swing, people growing tired of the current jeggings trend, but don't want to go full athleisure...

I knew the guy that was funding it...I think they just over-extended themselves. But yeah, I never got a pair either because I wasn't that impressed with them. I know they were selling a bunch of their deadstock denim...I wonder about the machines...

Hey Broark, did you hear that Traveller Denim is closing down?

Probably just need to start giving people tests before they buy their jeans to make sure their hearts are pure.

If all of a sudden everyone was wearing selvedge jeans, etc, I might be bummed because most people would assume I was riding some trend and didn't think for myself. Personally, here in socal when I see some girl wearing a choker I think to myself "there's no way you're wearing that in 5 years, you only are now because it's 'in'. Why not wear what you like instead of what's popular?"
On the other hand, I would absolutely love to see people like to wear high quality denims for the right reasons - interested in things that last a long time and look better with age, push the limits of luxurious fabrics, etc. Then I'd be able to geek out with more people in person!
How can you tell if they're wearing their jeans for 'the right reasons' on the street?

I would go to the LA screening as well. I'm bummed I can't make it to SF.

Should've just called it Gabriel Hounds and been done with it.

My guess is that the stores on Rakuten aren't actively targeting the overseas market.

Are any of the shops getting the D'Artisan D1708 VW Model Kiya?

Every time I fly, without fail, the body scan says there's an "issue" around the cuff of my jeans. Not sure why?
Same here. My strike gold's always get me patted down.

I work on a small team focused on Dailies Processing for a large Post-production company.

When I told the story to my wife's friend the next day she was like, "Roy that makes jeans...that lives in the apartment below me Roy?" So it's a small world I guess.

I ran into Roy at Lane Splitters in Oakland on my first visit to the area. He sat at the table next to us. I said hi and he was totally amazed that I recognized him at all. I think he was on a date and I really hope that me being a star struck nerd got him laid.

I work in post production, the fact that I'm not in pajamas all day is a miracle.

I didn't watch that particular video but I've seen some of the other ones and they didn't feel authentic to me. But, different people want different things so I just moved on.
I used to use the term, "I just don't get it" a lot but people confused it for "I don't understand" which is not what I meant. So I've switched to "it's not for me," or "I'm looking for something else in X."
"Looking for something different" has been a pretty good way to defuse the conversation about how much I spend on jeans vs how much other people do.

Yeah, I've seen the replacements on the site and had the same thoughts, it's why I hadn't pulled the trigger on them.
