sorta on/off topic, i made $400 off hardcore band shirts from my collection 99-04, sold to kids in germany, japan, etc etc. $10 shirts turned around and some terrible bands sold for $50+, rare band stuff got me super high return, like an American Nightmare sweatshirt.

anyway, i cut my closet down by 2/3 and most of it was compulsive show buys that i never wore.

i always try to keep in mind that they are just clothes, even if you get rid of them, that doesnt mean the memory goes away. and if you are so deeply nostalgic, take pictures of everything you've owned and keep track of it.

thats what ive done with all my guitar stuff. at one point i had 2 full stacks for bass and guitar, 5 guitars, and countless other shit, now im down to 1 bass 1 guitar and a vox ac30. i have pictures to remind me of that time, great memories of hunting stuff down at pawn shops, etc.

hi-standards are not raw denim. but compared to the colordrives, they are a thicker more substantial denim, the colordrives are thinner, lighter.

the 31 waist in the hi-standards is larger than that of the 31 in colordrive. the knees of the colordrives feel snugger but the fit is largely the same, the only difference is the hang is kind of different with my colordrives bunching at the ankle differently, pretty much from the fabric.

i personally like my hi-standards more, but the colordrives are more appropriate summer weight. a pic really doesnt help. they look different since one pair is black and one pair is white, best bet is to try them on, even seven's site doesnt really show a difference

they probably have them at those shops in the malls where they laser your initials into everything. if you dont find a pill box, you could go for a flask. my best friend got me an awesome flask with "BALLS DEEP" laser etched on it. always classy.

ive left a lot of shows early because i get frustrated and sleepy. id rather J.O. at home and sleep then stay up til 2am because a band or venue cant get their shit together.

in my area, all the kids in screamo and diy bands of this sound all jumped ship and grew beards and now are all about SUNN and stoner rock.

a band example is Examination Of The... , stellar spastic orchid stuff then they go neurosis now half the band is in a stoner rock band and the other dude plays solo snoorzville amp worship ala sunn.

there was an omaha band called Plosion, now they are in a stoner metal band Back When, which has members of Robots Dont Cry and Suttercane... midwest diy bands from the late 90s.

straightedge spocks to stoner sludge, i always thought that was an ironic twist on their whole schtick

i was to young for that group and i jumped ship from american nightmare to the jam. less embarrassing in my opinion

the new logo is way more mature. the tattoo culture thing is so exploited and i feel april77 is slightly above that

anyway, been rocking my Cream White colordrives more lately, they have a totally different feel and size than my black hi-standards. both are 31s and are worn tight but not super tight. waist is still large on the whites. (i wore 29 in cheap mondays)

have a pair of blue ones coming. when i find a jean that i like the fit of, i like filling up the closet with em.

the whole DIY san diego sound always reminded me of the manchester art school bands of the 1980s without synths + the early noisey garage bands like SUICIDE.
