  1. now I know where to post...

My best advice, look through EVERYTHING. I go through every single t-shirt, every pair of jeans, and every jacket. I don't look at the shirt it self, just the labels. It's the easiest way to recognize vintage t-shirts. I do the same w/ jeans just look at the rivets on the hip.

If you're looking for vintage t-shirts, you can pick them out by the stitching on the sleeves. A few companies have been replicating this lately, so you get a few false positives, but it's way faster than pulling every single shirt out of the rack.

  2. tons of waxed db at nordstrom rack this weekend

Was at the one in the Beverly Connection in LA yesterday, they're those ones with the weird gum rubber sole rather than regular crepe, which I wasn't into. $60, had them in most sizes still from what I saw.

  3. Most of my NBs are boring... black/grey 420s and black/3M Made in England 576s... but these I picked up thrifting are a little more interesting.

500s- the sole is super stiff, apparently they were made as casual cycling shoes.

  4. I work at a Rimowa retailer, so I'll weigh in.The box (the only thing we really have to work with) looks like a legit box from a year or two ago, and fwiw the price is still more than dealer cost, so it's at least plausible in that respect. Frankly, the investment required to counterfeit something like Rimowa would be so high given the size of the molds, unconventional construction, and relatively low return on the investment (compared to spectacularly high markup items like LV or what have you) that I don't think it's really a concern.

  5. Interesting to know, Rimowa opened up a factory in Canada back in November 2008, to manufacture the polycarbonates, so the newer Salsa Airs are made in Canada (like my girlfriends), while my one is made in Germany.

Indeed, Rimowa's been blowing up lately. I work at a luggage shop and over the past year Rimowa has moved up to our #2 brand after Tumi, when a few years ago it was pretty much a niche, mostly special order brand.

  6. all you people complaining about multitasking need to realize that the only people that will buy this already own every generation of iPhone already and will therefore be able to run 4 things at once when they get this

So nice. Deserves way better than getting cable locked to a tree.

  8. can anyone help me find an alternative for a black soma threaded fork, length 150-170? these seem to be extinct except for on the soma website where they are overpriced compared to other sites i've been on. anything else out there that i dont know about? i am partial to a threaded fork so keep that in mind, and i aint rich so im looking to drop 120

Keirin Culture has the Kazane track forks for $99. You'll have to chop it yourself though.

  9. Anyone have tips on folding the last bit of tire into the rim?

Never had problems with Schwalbe tires, but these Vittoria Zaffiro's are killing my fingers...

Killing your fingers? Do you not have tire levers? Get some nice skinny ones, not those thick nylon ones, which are a pain with road tires.

  10. you need a cotterless crank remover. Go to a bike shop.

This is correct. Just make sure you get one that's for square-taper bottom brackets, they make other ones for octalink and power spline or whatever, and those won't work.

  11. 105 is pretty good, the close ups hadn't been posted yet while I was writing my post. If it does get converted, definitely keep the components so you can change it back if you ever want to.
