  1. SC 1947s came today. BiG's measurements are off. The size 38 measures 38. Should be fine though. Gave them a cold soak at lunch then hung 'em up to dry. Asked a friend to stretch the waist every half hour or so. Hopefully they've dried out a bit and by the time I get home and I can wear them while doing some yard work to stretch the waist to where I want it.

On BiG's site it lists the inseam as 37.25", and I asked them to hem them back to 35.25". They measured 36", as labeled on the patch and tag. So, I guess they weren't hemmed.

See that's what I'm talking about. I don't get them. It always seems like they are a a size off in everything. I can see other measurements maybe being off but it's hard to mess the waist up that much all the time.

  2. Dam. I think I need to get a pair of these. I have some Okinawas coming in but these look pretty sick too. Think I'm going to order some. I'll post fit pics in a couple days.

Edit** What the fuck. They had a bunch of sizes in stock like 10 mins ago. I just went to order them and my size is gone, plus I think a bunch of others. I know they had 33's and 34's and now they don't.

  3. ha. i wasnt talking about you dumbass. unless youre a yuppie that buys prebuilt choppers for 16 grand and think youre badass.

and i didnt bother reading your autobiography. good job wasting energy.

I'm the one that posted that bike up and have been considering getting so it was about me. And like I said I've been riding for as long as I can remember and I'm certainly not a yuppie.

  4. Boy, SE and BiG has some pretty different measurements on the Okis. BiG is labeled size, SE is one to nearly two inches smaller than labeled size.... Everything I've read is that Canes shrink to tagged size (or a little under it depending on how aggressive you get with the water and agitation), and I'd expect they'd stretch out to an inch over tagged.

I've got some raw 1947 coming that I expect tomorrow or Friday. Will be interested in seeing what a trip through the washer on cold does to them.

I trust SE much more then BIG. BIG always seems to be off by an inch in everything. My Momotaro 0201's were an inch smaller then listed. I went to BIG and tried on some PBJ 007 one washes and they were way smaller then their charts. And on Context they have the raw Oki's as being measured true to tag. So once soaked they would be smaller then tagged, which is what SE is saying. So with my experiences with BIG and both Context and SE having similar measurements I think I made the right choice.

  5. nicee.. I wish there were more evo pics of okinawas. I've seen like 1 or 2 only!!!

Yea I dunno why I don't see more of them around here. I guess they aren't slim enough for most people but I think the trend is going to start going away from skinny jeans and more into traditional cuts so I bet we start seeing more Sugar Canes around in the next year or so. That's my Nostradamus denim prediction.

  6. Ha your an idiot. I don't claim to be a badass. I've been riding bikes my whole life, well since I was 6. I raced motocross for years. I got my motorcycle license and a bike weeks after getting my car endorsement. I road race and race supermoto. I don't claim to be some motorcycle stud but I bet I have more experience and am more of a motorcyclist then a lot of people posting on here. I'm not a mechanical genius and have never built a bike before. I'm sure it's doable but having someone who know's how to build bikes and does it for a living is worth a price to me. I definitely have respect for people that build their own stuff but I don't know if I'm capable of it and it's pricey to take the chance. I don't have to try and be a badass by saying I built my own bike. Your the complete opposite of what motorcycling is about by bashing people for being into pre-built stuff. As long as your on a bike and on the road your cool in my book, doesn't matter what your on.

  7. I ordered the Oki's from SE NY so I should have them in a couple days. I went true to size and am hoping that they are smaller then tagged like on SE's site. I know some guys were sizing down but I think that would be a little too snug. Also going to order a belt, wallet, and tether from Tanner to go with them so hopefully it'll all look good together.

  8. I like the 700 fit and how it's a bit more relaxed then the 800's. But I don't like cinch backs all that much and think it would get in the way with a belt. Would I go to denim hell if I cut the cinch pieces off?

  9. I wanna buy a motorcycle in a few years that'll take me across the US. I want one with a good back carriage, carry some shit. What model should I aspire to, plus how much dollars to put away.

That's way to vague. There's a ton of bikes you can go across a country on at various price points. I would do it on something like this though. They're about 15 grand new.

  10. You'd melt your rear brake boot and lever. And we all know how important the rear break is to people who ride these kinds of bikes. Not to mention blast an incredible amount of noise back up at your ears. Stupid.

Relax. I just posted it to show some cool styling and design. It's obviously not a practical bike, although most custom bikes aren't. And I think it's quite a bit more practical then a chopper. I've been looking for some ideas to build a triumph 750. I found this place where you can get brand new 750's for a couple grand.

  11. 1108Cs are the same denim as the 0105Cs, and the 1108s are noticably straighter and narrower, with a little bit shorter rise.

I wouldn't say the Warehouse 800s lighten up with just a couple washes. Are they lighter than my 0105s? Yes, but they were from the get go, and the FC started very dark, and still are in non-wear areas.

Looking at BiGs measurements, the 47 and 66 Sugar Cane's looks to be the exact same until you get below the knee, where the 66s are an inch narrower.

Yea but the leg opening on the 1108's is too small for me. I like a nice classic straight leg fit. Not baggy or tight, just a classic fit. The 1108's are a little small. What about the Oni Denim Blue fit, do you know anything about them? They look like they would be a little too slubby but they look interesting. Haven't seen anything about them on here. I'm probably going to just call SE NY today and order the Oki's unless I change my mind, which I've been doing a lot.

  12. We've got a full stock of Okinawas at SENY, we accept phone orders and the shipping is still free.

Nice. I may just take a trip to the city tomorrow then actually. You have Iron Heart t's there too right?

  13. Nobody has okinawas in stock. SE, BIG, and Context are all pretty much out. And I need a pair ASAP. I guess I could always get a pair of something to hold me over but okinawas would be my no. 1 choice.

  14. hawaii indigo is a greencast, meaning it fades kinda bluish/green.

Yea that's really not what I'm after. I can't fuckin find a pair of jeans I'm really into. There's something wrong with everything I've been looking at and it's driving me crazy. I like the fit of the 47's/hawaii's but I like really dark indigo denim so the hawaii's won't work. I'm into Momotaro 0201's but I can't stand the pink stitching. I like the Warehouse 800's but they get really light after a soak too. Flathead 3005's are really nice but they use cotton stitching so I'm worried about them falling apart real quick. Iron Heart 634s' are pretty cool but I don't know if I'd be down with 21oz denim and I'd rather get something slubby but the sheen on them is pretty cool too. Fullcount 0105c's are pretty sick but they have huge thighs.
