  1. Exactly... they stretch.

    So, this post is FAIL.

Lol, my point was that they stretch A LOT. Moreso than some other brands.

In my experience: a "normal" slim fit will be acquired by buying a pair you can button, but is tight. To get more of a "sufu" slim fit, I'd say to buy a pair you can't even button all the way. For me though, that meant a 1 size difference. Maybe it's just my body shape, but I could easily put on a 31 -it was fitted but not bad fitted- and I wasn't really able to get the top button done on a 30.

I might've lost weight, but it wouldn't have been more than 5 lbs.

If you are raging because you think I am hating on APCs.. I am actually wearing them right now. I love them. I've worn them almost every day for the past few months.

  2. Just wanted to add 1 more sizing datapoint:

To get a sufu slim fit, buy the pair that is uncomfortable and perhaps not even buttonable all the way.

To get a "normal" slim fit, get the one you can button all the way and doesn't kill you.

Also - these things stretch way more, say, than my Naked and Famous Weird Guy.

  3. Is there a cheaper way to get the frames I want? Right now I'm trying to see if two local independent shops can order them in cheaper, but I was thinking- is there a good online shop, or SuFu user that has the glasses hookup?

Getting more specific, the specific pair I like right now is the Etnia Barcelona Sydney in BR/LB, but please give me any and all suggestions. I'm in Canada, but post up anything, because even I couldn't use it it'd probably useful to some other SuFu user.

  4. i dont like hood on hood (especially when one or both! is allover print).

and a quick question, what do you guys think of wearing a sleeveless hoodie under a jacket/peacoat?

I'm not gonna lie, I do that - but I don't think it looks the best. I do it because sometimes I have to.

  5. If there's an old shoe box in mom and dad's house that you've never opened (and I guess, if you have no reason to think your folks ever made a sex tape), you should see what's inside of it. Not too long ago, I unearthed these from deep within a corner of the shoe closet at our house. The box had been there since forever, I actually remember seeing it one time I was looking for my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hat.

After talking with my dad, I found out where they came from. After immigrating to Canada back in 1981, and starting work in a Chinese kitchen a day later, he took a portion of his first pay cheque and bought these. They're a pair of old Florsheims, worn and worn by him in the decades since that day. Looking back, he hasn't had the chance to wear them all too much during the couple of years where I might notice what the old guy was wearing, and that's why I hadn't noticed them.

But I'm glad that I've found them now, and I'm definitely proud to wear them. I think they're pretty sweet, and they're a part of our chaotic, messed-up family.

  6. I regularly wear the first pair of shoes my dad bought after he came to Canada from China.. a product of his first ever Canadian pay cheque... so they were purchased 26 years ago. It's a nod and appreciation of heritage, family, and all of his hard work and struggles that gets me wearing them now.
