  1. Plussung, I agree with cultpop on the comparison to Julian Red cali....in your pic they really look nothing like JR Calis. They don't look bad, but I know for a fact that my dry Calis are much slimmer down the leg esp at the calf area. Maybe there are aspects to the cut that are similar but I'd say it's more like the Gap wanted to make a "skinny jean" that was democratic to fit a wider range of their customer, which kind of defeats the purpose in making a skinny jean.

  2. i found these at the salvation army for $15. they are pretty crazy but they look good with my 517s. i hardly ever wear them anymore though.

Cult, I'm not into cowboy boots but those look really good. Great shape, color and the stitching is badical. They look to have a pretty high heel, which might need getting used to I suppose.

  3. who originally made them?

IIRC, the Barracuda G9 is the OG harrington. They're great jackets...but I'm in the camp that sees them as classic skinhead gear. I used to have the most killer (and rare) PoW plaid Harrington but sold it like an idiot years ago. The navy harrington, Ben Sherman buttondown, Levis redline cuffed .75" and Loake tassel loafer is like *the* way to wear a Harrington imo.

  5. Just saw the fall line for Paul Smith and loved it!

But you really need to try on the suit first, because a 50 Paul Smith fits me like a glove but a 50 Dior was way too small. You should also determine what this suit will be used primarily for - work, play, pimp, etc.

I personally like the fit on Paul and the outrageous lining.

I agree, Paul Smith fall line has some amazing suits from his mainline. I'm looking to get one of his super thin lapel one buttons this season. Paul fits a tad slimmer than most other labels at the same size so it's def a good idea to try on if possible. And Dior's sizing def needs one to try on first.

  6. I only wear suits socially, never for work, so I go for more modern cuts. Personally, I like Paul Smith suits a lot, and see nice ones from Etro, Dolce Gabbana, etc. I also like Thom Browne but not worn with his style (aka the super short trouser hem etc)

  7. I have a pair of 1929 201xx with the white patch. Those have the 9oz greencast blueline selvage.

I believe the 1936 buckleback redlines with leathre patch were called 501 when repro'd but were actually 201s back in their day(?) and have the same heavier 12oz (?) denim as '47s....at least that's how I understand it.

  8. Yea there's a LOT of nice pieces. You almost wouldnt recognize much of it as RL just by the images. Sure were a lot of "Derelicte" looking jeans paired with nice tailored jackets. RLPL is a phenomenal line, it's so conceptually detached from the normal Polo line that sometimes it's hard to believe they are from the same company.

  9. It's hot as hell here but saw this APC M-65 from the new F/W and decided I had to have it. They had a chestnut color and black, I opted for black in size 0, it fits really snug and slim in the trunk and has longish sleeves that blouse on the wrists with adjustable snaps. Belted waist and collar, the buckle is leather-covered. I love it.

That looks great, ima be in NYC for the CMJs so hopefully they'll still have those at the store to try on.

  10. Nudie Thin Finn in dry black, just got them today from fos5

I noticed these actually run 1" smaller than tag, which is a departure from my other Nudies (Ralf, Jim, Ola) that run .5-1" larger than tag. I never measured my dry indigo Finns but I'm assuming those also ran a tad small since after wearing for 10 months they must have stretched a bit and now measure exactly as tagged (32)

  11. Thanks DDML.....I actually had an account here from the old Supertalk but havent been able to log into it for months so i finally got off my ass and made a new profile.

It sure has a different flavor these days, for the better. I remember it being kinda lame when there were all the flamewars and NTers cluttering the board. Cheers to Minya and the Mods for bringing the cool back to ST

  12. Good choices CheapMoFo

my soundtrack at this very moment...2 new demo tracks by Sahara Hotnights for upcoming record on their myspace profile

also in que to play, One Life Crew "911", Condemned 84 "Face the Aggression", The Rifles new debut record, The Adored "A New Language"

  13. Band of Outsiders has some nice thin ties that were on sale during Barney's last seasonal clearance. But +1 on getting them from vintage shops....you can usually score some good looking 2-2.5" ties for cheap. Quality will range from so-so to good but since I dont wear ties much , quality isnt really an issue since they could be made from tissue paper and would still last me a couple years.
