Hmmm... my family is from OC. My cousin went to high school with Zack De La Rocha. You guys probably know each other.
crazy. I might know or know of your cousin, as I knew quite a few of those Uni-High kids. Zach came up to my radio show on KUCI and would hang out, as would many from the Uni-Crew.
I can't wait to see that movie "American Hardcore" that opens this coming weekend.

i have nothing but memories
I feel you on that. Only thing I have left are copies of the zine me and some friends did back in the 80s. Since we were in OC, we were friends with all the big hitters of that day like Insted, NFAA, Hard Stance, Carry Nation, Headfirst, Inside Out, Reason to Believe, etc etc.

Those skinny belts are repro's of 40s and 50s belts. Lot of traditional rockabilly guys wear those with 50s gabardine slacks, since they have super skinny belt loops.
If you dont want to spend a lot, check out http://rockabillybelts.com/
btw, imo I think they look whack with jeans. but they look great with trousers.

yea it definitely hits once in a while. This past weekend I dropped almost $1k just on Fred Perry shit for me and my fiancee. My Debit card was burning up so we made up for it by eating broke ass cheap all weekend. But then I ended up selling a vintage shirt for $200 and made another $170 selling some CDs the other day so that made me feel better. It's a constant tug of war buying/selling for us. Mostly buying tho. Then I take a much needed spending break for a while. At least til Nov when we're in NYC!!

I think you should have left them alone. They seemed to be pretty cool before you cut them, esp with that pale gray coloring. As it is now, I think they look pretty bad, in the traditional meaning of the word.

wondering...did anyone pick up that "paul weller" limited fred perry? i bailed on my invite.
I know of some that did....honestly the whole thing just seemed like a silly marketing ploy to sell some regular polos for 3x as much. They said it's based on the vintage polos but it doesnt even have the 3 button placket, just the normal 2. *pfeh*
thanks for the good words doods.

he was nice enough to check for sizes and let me use the fitting room. Real dope.
isnt that doing his job, at a very very minimum? the phrase "let me use the fitting room" just sounds odd, as if he were doing *you* a favor

Best:
Paul Smith LA....even tho I have a particular salsesperson that I deal with that calls me when new items of interest have arrived, everyone there is always really nice and says hello & goodbye/thanks
Fred Segal on melrose: The middle aged black guy has given me exceptional service on multiple visits spanning almost 10 years now
Ralph Lauren stores have always given great service and the right level of attention.
most dept stores:esp Bloomingdales Bev Center, Barneys, Sak, Neimans on wilshire
Worst:
the "streetwear" stores on LaBrea (stussy, union, undefeated, volcom etc)....probably because I don't look like a wigger and my shirt is always tucked into my pants. I feel like they're looking at me like I have a 3rd eye growing out my forehead and the overall service is icy at best. I guess they know I'm buying a gift and not shopping for myself.
for the most part have never experience horrible service at a clothier

i was also looking at paul smith. it seems that the suits are on sale at bloomingdales. are there any other department stores that carry paul smith?
Bloomingdales? in LA at the Beverly Center....they've never carried PS that I've seen. Sure you dont mean Neiman Marcus or Barneys on Wilshire? They carry a full range of PS. As does Fred Segal in Santa Monica and American Rag on Beverly Blvd. Why not just go to the PS store on Melrose? The pink palace of goodness has everything you'd ever want (but yer a little late for sale prices as all suits were 50% off until Aug 1)

the shirt costed be around 45 bucks. it was also shipping from china.
ugh...sorry but if that's the case, it's probably 99% fake. I avoid any auctions for "name brand" clothing coming from China, SE Asia. But if the shirt fits well enough then at least you have a good fitting shirt without having spent too much $

I have 10+ PS shirts ranging from mainline to London to PS to jeans....
Yours is a "london" line which uses decent cotton, it's nothing like mainline cotton which is phenomenal. I don't know what you were expecting the cotton to feel like but London shirts feel no different than any other run of mill dress shirt.
There are quite a few sellers of PS shirts on ebay who are questionable, and most likely fake. These shirts generally sell for $25-40. I believe real PS shirts have blank collar bones so that's not an indicator.
The shirt isnt familiar to me, but it does appear reasonably correct as something that could have been made. It's more than likely a print like yours might actually be a real shirt vs. plain white or stripes which have many fakes

yep. i have made in UK, China and portugal Freds and the fit on UK Freds is slimmer. The China and Portugal freds are sized S-XL and I find that I need to size down for a proper fit. UK Freds are labeled by chest size. The cotton on UK freds seems to feel heftier, but they're all pretty close.

I used to be primarily into black/dark colors and monotone earthtones....but last few years I've been all up in color. Anything that has a good teal automatically gets my attention. Also lavenders, pinks, and burgundies are recent faves

Boston Beatdown really exposes these hardcore figureheads for what they are -- old, bored, slightly dumb kids that grew up without any sense of purpose or direction. trust me, it's not even worth watching for the fights. .

Mine ran a bit small. My 32s were 31" waist which was perfect. They havent stretched much in the year I've owned them, maybe 1" at most but nothing noticeable. If you dont get them nuthugging tight they shouldnt stretch too much.
