  1. Great updates Edmond and Naoto

And keep your Ralfs alive for ever since this old Nudie style is out of production since ages.

    Are they still never washed?

I washed once before making them retired.....no wash since then. Thank god I haven't gained weight so I can still wear them.

By the way, the last picture was a closed-up pic of repairing work for the crashed crotch of Tokyo model done by Denime - they'd do it free when you showed your guarantee card at the time but I wonder if they still do it.....(FYI, I saw Denime Kyoto had been completely demolished when I popped in Kyoto early this year..... :( )

Sounds like you have some old stuff at your legs. Any updates from your old styled Nudie Regular Ralf? You can send me pics on PM too

Oh! Though I bought my Ralf 9 years ago, I only wore them for a year or so.....they look nice but I could have done better.

Here are my contribution in this thread.......

  3. Three - Levi's pre-distressed (bought 15 years ago), Nudie Ralf (bought 9 years ago) and Uniqlo selvaged (only one year old) going back and forth.......

  4. Sorry to intervine.....

I assume it says "日本製" - which means "Made in Japan". That's all really.

In the Capital-era there are 2 kanji on the tag, later it is Orizzonti, then Shins and now a complete new tag.
  5. that park was pretty cool - great scenery & location. you can either just drive there yourself and pay when you get in, or local operators run paid tours up there.

My friend and I went there by buses - firstly from Tokyo to Nagano (approximately 4hrs), then another bus journey from Nagano to Jigokudani (1hrs 30mins).....this was the cheapest way to get there but if you have your Japan Rail Pass, you can go to Nagano by Shinkansen (bullet trains) and much faster and save your time, too. Enjoy!

  6. Naoto-san I will be in Tokyo next week! Not sure if you'll be there though!

I'll be in Tokyo until the end of next week then will move to a hot-spring town in Wakayama, then will move to Kyoto & Nara for a couple of days, then will come back to London. The main purpose of this time is clear out my room which hasn't been used for 20 years since I moved to London. But I'm looking forward to indulging my shopping spree (ahh....thanks to the recent good exchnge rate!)

FYI, here's the movie I shot in Tokyo around this time last year.....

But aho, I'd recommend you go this place when you visit Japan in winter - very interesting place! It was very hard to get there, but I enjoyed :)

    Enjoy!

  7. Can't believe no-one has mentioned Porkys for shopping.

Oh, yes.....I forgot. I went to the shop and bought Toys McCoys' N-1 deck jacket back in 2008 (I purchased it at Rakuten but collected at the shop). Though getting there was a bit awkward (a bit outside of the centre of Kyoto).....

I'm going back to Japan next week too - it's a shame we're not in Japan at the same period. And thanks lance!

  8. Thank you my friend!

It's the licenced RMFB brand made in Japan, but i do not know if Warehouse actually produces them.

As far as I remember......Warehouse'd produce copies of RMFH down vests (around 10yrs ago), but I assume RMFH claimed the infringement of copyright or something so that Warehouse seems to have bought the license from RMFH and sells it under the name of RMFH leagally now (as you may know, the original ones were made in the US, but recent ones are made (by Warehouse) in Japan??? - maybe my information could be obsolete now)

The downside (for me) is that the price has become double with tags of RMFH......it was half price when Warehouse was selling it without the tags......I should have bought it at the time!

  9. Holy crap, that book retails for a whole hell of a lot cheaper here.

Maybe I can start my own proxy service, lol.

You'd be surprised when you send a thick and heavy magazine to foreign countries by air mail - it would cost you an arm and a leg.

  10. @Max

Is your M65 by IH or genuine US-Army one???

Hint: Always choose one-size down from your size when you buy M65......mine is XS (I normally wear S for jackets). Though you're looking good in it so don't worry!

    Peace!

  11. Anyway, here's what I have on today... I've posted all my vintage ones now, so we move on to Japanese repro. These are by a brand called Yanagi Gawa Ichiro, and I think they're made in Japan, altough it might be Hong Kong.

Hi! I've been trying to know about this brand - and sadly Yanagigawa Ichiro seems a pseudo-Japanese brand by Chinese. I've read their website (in Japanese) and the texts sounded awful - just like translated by Google or Bing translation and there's a lot of typos in their web pages - FYI.

I'm into nice glasses but unfortunately my eye sights are still good - I sometime use the pair for distance when I drive or go to any museums or galleries to see properly and need to use my reading glasses when I read (obviously!), but otherwise I can see without them most of the time. So I always go for cheaper options like Jins and Zoff in Japan.

  12. which tokyo uniqlo shops carry the full ranges of their men's collection? also looking for some selvedge while i'm on vacation

Hi! Ginza branch is the best (and the biggest).

Unfortunately they don't sell any selvaged jeans right now.
