  1. I keep needing to remind myself that I told myself I would take a break from contests once royxcone is over (though I'm quite intrigued by these pants), so I'll stop cluttering with my questions!

Sounds like ninja07 is a similar size to me, though, so I'll be curious to see how his 28s wind up! Unfortunately smallest size in the seconds sale is 30.

Also, just saw this on You Have Broken the Internet (via some other blog):

look like Left Field, and dude is apparently a buyer for Need Supply so it would make sense. Good looking fit that makes me even more intrigued... dammit...

  2. Nice to hear from you, doc!

My pair is currently undergoing it's last wash of this contest - final submission, hopefully, early next week :)

I think it's best if we hold off on posting final submissions until everyone is done. That way we won't have to sift through 50 pages of the thread over a couple months to see everyone's final submissions. So maybe put together your final submission post (take pictures at least) as soon as your year is done, but wait to actually post until the last contestant has finished his year.

Speaking of which, who was the last person to initially receive their jeans? Paul T, right? When did he actually get them?

  6. Man, I wish these were cut just a wee bit slimmer and I'd be all about it!

Also, I had assumed this is the same fabric as used by raleigh, roy and (soon to be, I hear) tellason for their indigo canvas/duck releases, but andrew's comments have me wondering if this is the case. Anyone know?

  7. Alright! Here's my Secret Santa gift.

    DSC_7416copy.jpg

An Apolis pocket square, kitenge bandana, denim scraps from Roy's trashcan, and an emergency can opener (that functions quite well to remove the crap from under your nails). I have to say, this gift is above and beyond anything I expected. It's probably pretty easy to guess who it's from, but I just wanted to say thank you!

Wha?? The hell? who is re-gifting their kitenge bandanna?!?

  8. thanks for the love, all. i do have a few more india pictures (about 2,450) I could put up, but i don't want to just completely photo-bomb the thread (especially since i still want to put up some from germany and istanbul). actually i was planning on putting all of my india highlights (110 total) in a picasa album - I'll just post a link to that here once i've done so.

glad you guys liked that dude-with-beard photo too. that was a result of being pretty fantastically bored on the train, screwing around with hipstamatic and seeing if i could take a picture of someone really close up without him noticing. victory! also i really want to draw that dude's profile.

Yeah i know the Enfields (actually they once again have rights to Royal Enfield) are still being made in India. I actually have a bit of a collection of Enfield photos from India. I'm not surprised to hear they're made like crap, but good god are the gorgeous, and super fun to ride as well!

zissou- I actually think that sounds like fun. i'm sure the recipient will have a good idea who the sender is from the return address, but the rest of us can guess just from the contents!

  9. at a yoga ashram in kerala, southern india. learned a lot but this face fairly well captures how i felt about the experience

a charming advisement from the Indian railroad authority to leave you with.

okay, that's enough photo-dumping for now! hopefully i'll get some germany and istanbul highlights up before the year's end.
