For kicks, and because I'm not sure the last time I posted a fit pic wearing the ROYxCones here:
From a few weeks ago now (on my way to Inspiration). I think I'll always have that awesome "ahhhhh" feeling when slipping into these well-loved second-skins!

Kitenge goes in the pocket every day. It's surprising how many young girls will ask about it out of the blue considering I'm old, dirty, and have been referred to as a little scary looking at times.
Heh... awesome.
Will the jacket be the same denim?
Pretty sure he used all of that denim on the jeans! I wish though...

My workplace is definitely pretty casual, but I'm not sure it's quite frankenstein-pants casual.
The jacket, however, I'm sure will be seeing regular daily-duty! Sounds like Roy and I will pow-wow on it once he's finished Self Edge's most recent re-up. I'll keep you guys&gals posted!

Damn, didn't realize you guys were coming to LA. Sorry I missed it!

I'm not familiar, but those looked so good (wear pics on Brooklyn Circus website) so I picked up a pair. I'll report back, but unfortunately, by the time they ship the sale will be long over.
I'm just hoping they fit.
I'll be curious to hear what you think!
I don't think that is the case, otherwise they wouldn't call them chestnut cordovan and the price is more for those than the suede.
My thought as well.
In other news, some unknown brand color #8 shell cordovan longwings I picked up at the last Rose Bowl flea market for $25 (!). They're a bit beat up, but I'm pretty stoked regardless. Only marking on them is "Travelite" on the sole. Wish I had any other info about them!

Anyone familiar with Brooklyn Bootworks?
More specifically, is this"]http://www.brooklynb..._Boot.html]this bad boy really shell cordovan[/url]?
I'm suspicious. But if it is, $300 is a hell of a steal: [shamelessness alert] my referral code for a(nother) limited-time deal site at which the boot is available: http://huckberry.com...dJ1bz0wujVeRRLE [/shamelessness alert]. Seriously though... too good to be true?

if you make it down south for a visit, I'll be here to welcome you with bells on (and ROYxCones, of course)!

Awe jeeeeeeeez guys! I feel like the prettiest girl at the ball. I'm blushing!
seriously just stoked to have been part of this. And im incredibly thankful to have had this - literal and figurative - forum to share that year with. It was not a very easy year but having such great enthusiasm from you all was actually quite a help.
Thanks to the Founding Fathers for getting this show together!
Yay jacket! Will post pics of ROY tuxedo!

Perfecto by Schott "Dunbar" - sounds like it's made of Cone's indigo canvas/duck:

Damn, salaami breaking out of his box. I'm intrigued to see the results!

wow. there's a reason I didn't come home with a kitenge suit:
Does this mean I should be starting a kitenge thread on sufu? it's fashion now! Hah.

Hah! Where's that from, Zissou? I have a friend who peddles fair-trade kitenge goods of all sorts. She needs to step up her game.

Stolen from Rivet Head's blog:

^ I'll second that. When Brian pointed out that the jacket was of the same material, I very seriously considered clubbing Brian with a mannequin and stealing his pants. Fortunately for him his pants would be way too big for me.

Hm, well they're clearly a bit oversized. I didn't bring a measuring tape into the dressing room with me, but I'm generally a pretty standard 30, and I'd be a 29 or maybe even 28 in these. They seem to be kind of carrot-shaped - a lot of room up top compared to the leg-opening. An exaggerated 501 profile?

I hope these show up at American Rag so I can give 'em a try on!

PSA: American Rag in LA has Levi's Made & Crafted indigo duck jeans (like these; pretty sure they're one-wash) for 75% off the $225 retail price. Sizes 30, 31 and 32 all there when I stopped in yesterday (all 32" inseam). 30s were too big on me otherwise I would have taken them home. If the price drops much more it might be worth buying and having a tailor re-work.

Superbowl-inspired patriotic historical reenactment, in ROYxCone.

I'll put the final five's photos together in some sort of package and then send them off to the judges.
I'm surprised by the results- I thought for sure dkatz's thoroughly destroyed pair would be way out in front of the pack!
Awesome. Any idea when we can expect their decision?

So what's the plan from here?

The ROY jacket Kiya was wearing (embroidered with "Bob Zonny") at the post-Inspiration RRL party did plenty to whet my appetite...
