  2. Dam is definitely right on this. I have central air in my home, and a programmable thermostat. I set it keep the house at 74 when i'm home and 78 when i'm not. This method made a noticable difference in my utility bill.

Another sweet move is to set the fan function on "on" instead of "auto". This way the fan runs constantly even when the air conditioning is not running. In older homes such as mine the first floor stays the coolest(where the thermostat is) so it can be several degrees hotter upstairs than the A/C setting but it wont kick in because because its cool downstairs. Since all the cold air returns are in the first floor the fan will circulate the cooler air to the upper floors and keep them cooler without actually running the A/C. This is especially effective at nite, allowing you to keep the thermostat at a slightly higher temp, thus saving a bit of money and letting you sleep in comfort.

  3. I agree with Faust regarding watches between $30 and $1000, with one exception: LED watches from Tokyoflash. You can get models that are totally unique in both form and function for less than $200 in most cases. Your not paying for a fine mechanical movement so your money goes toward design.

  4. Allright-

It seems as though this subject has run out of steam.

So here now, is the winner-

On the Fu Manchu album Action Is Go track number 13 is called Saturn III.

There is a short pause between the intro and beginning of the first part of the song when one of the guitar players steps on one of his pedals, and the resulting feedback sounds like Godzilla tearing the Sears Tower in half.

    Here endeth the lesson.

  5. Gotcha.

One more question, if you don't mind.

Are these, IYO, boots that can stand up to abuse?

Not working construction type abuse, but a couple miles of walking every day and spending most of each day one ones feet? I love the looks of them, and I'm tired of Doc's and combat boots, but if they aren't good and durable I'll have to look in another direction.

I've got dress boots. I need an every day boot with the AF60's looks.

  6. poly,

i sent my measurements to somet and they recommended a 31 which was perfect. i'm a 30 in APC NS, 32 in imperial, 32 in nudie, etc.

they're fairly low rise, so they will sit lower than your SDAs, but honestly, that size chart on the website is spot-on. measure a low-ish rise pair of jeans and compare and you'll be fine. alternately, the somet folks are awesome and will recommend a size for you based on measurements.

everyone who's PMed me about ordering: i'll contact you this weekend with my paypal and we'll hopefully get the order placed next week.

    jeans won't disappoint...

If you don't mind me asking-

    What are your measurements, Snuggle?

I'm usually a 28 or 29 in nudie, so based on your above statement I figured I'd go with 28, but the last two pair of jeans i've ordered(PBJ XX-005 & Cali Raw) I got 28s in and they were two small.

  7. Filippa K has a piece very similar to the one in the first pic coming for fall.

It's like a long peacoat/overcoat in black. The collar and lapels are bigger and it does not have the leather bands around the wrists. It is sweet.
