  1. Also, gonna echo an oft-heard topic of request - looking for a particular photo of the Villa dall'Ava. It's a B/W image of the spiral staircase, perspective from bottom and to the side, looking upwards. It's on p.153 of S, M, L, XL. I'll get around to scanning it off the book, if I can't find it online...

  2. but I'd much rather see overtly teched out ninja dudes than the 'heritage' #menswear shit.

If people want to obsess over dope waterproof fabrics, than that's fine.

Thing is, 'heritage' #menswear is only shit because it's been diluted to the point of meaningless, no? - the same thing could easily happen to dope 'waterproof' #tech fabric ninja clothes.

I'm picturing SS-CP1 rips in crap fabrics, more wearable proportions, cheap closures, for one-fifteenth of the price, and worn round East End. Completely laughable.

  3. ^ I really like the selection of schools for dogs there are to choose from.

  4. the signal:noise ratio on raster noton is supremely high

make sure to look up pixel, especially "the drive"

Cheers, will look it up- can't rep.

edit: That said, at this preliminary stage I haven't yet hit any off-key records. Plus earlier this summer I saw Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto & cyclo shows which were quite special. Seeing Kangding Ray this Saturday.

  5. The only reason I can come up with for a white person named vanilla wafer on the internet to call a watery chicken soup with beans a 'chili' is that they were home schooled and never taken to anything remotely American in their lifetimes.
In any case, dish in question is definitely not chili.

Superfuture Clean-n-Neat: Bled, eviscerated and finely shaved with a mandoline.

edit: Thanks dis & hearts for bringing the citrus knowledge.

  6. They haven't released tonight's dinner menu yet so I can't get to it, but Bread & Wine does the whole communal, small plates concept ('small' ≠ small) and the dishes are less pricey so you can order more to share. Only thing is you won't get the bone marrow salad there...

You want to PM JohannesDeSilentio, he can probably give you a detailed run down of the rest of the St John must-haves.

Are you going to Dinner while you're here? Is a good place. Don't think you'll get any overlap with the Hinds Head since Dinner goes a bit further back with the whole history lesson.

  7. Just had a look, the St John menu actually looks a little less interesting than their Bread & Wine restaurant menu (aside from the obvious bone marrow salad). But they also do their greens really well, and if they have any sort of chickpeas & yoghurt starter you want to get on that. Also their roast middlewhite (三成肉?!) is a classic, beautiful crackling and fatty layer. Eyes out once again for the accompaniment on the side - their lentils have nicely layered flavours. A dish with ox heart, if available, is also a good choice.

  8. And now back to our regular programming:

Gordon Ramsay Porn Dwarf Double Eaten by Badger

U.K. tabloid Sunday Sport recently introduced the world to Percy Foster, a 35-year-old dwarf porn star whose career was just beginning to catch fire because an observant production assistant had noticed how much Foster looked like celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. But just as Foster was set to join the rarefied ranks of celebrity lookalike dwarf porn stars, tragedy struck: The body of the 3' 6" performer has been discovered in a badger's den, partially eaten.
