  1. I wore them only for a couple hours around the house but decided they are a little too snug in the waist and I have too many pairs of jeans now anyway. Tagged size is 26, but here are some actual measurements:

waist (laid flat, back of waist band) - 14.25 inches

    rise - 10 inches

    knee - 8 inches

    hem - 7.5 inch

    inseam - 34 inches

I will post some pictures shortly. The denim on these is pretty thick and heavy. Id say they are a one wash because they dont seem stiff enough to be raws. Maybe someone who knows more about HL can add more about HL "classic denim"

$45 shipped within US, add $10 for international shipping.

  2. i got a freitag wallet from freitag.ch a few months ago... had wanted one for a few years since i saw the bags all over in germany. Shipped to the US it was about $54, which i thought wasnt bad. There are alot of people buying wallets that are alot more expensive, and i like the freitag wallets better than most leather wallets.

  3. ebay can be daunting when theres so much to weed through!

what do you guys think of these?

I got them at a thrift store for 50 cents and i really think they are some of the best looking dress shoes ive seen. They are kind of the ideal for what i want in something new. I only wear them sparingly because the sole is worn through and im afraid they are gonna fall apart whenever i wear them. They are stacy adams, so nothing special, id guess they are from the 70's.

  4. Im sure i could find alot of shoes i liked if my budget was $600+. i pretty much only spend large sums of money (for me that means $150-$200) on jeans. Everything else i look for good buys/thrift finds.

Ill have to keep a look out at dsw and other places in the near future though.

  5. I saw them elsewhere for under $50. Im undecided about the pattern, i could see myself either liking or disliking it if i saw them in person.

I dunno if i could do much better at dsw. Ive looked at places like that, never see anything i like.

Id like to get both a square toed dress shoe or boot and more of a pointy or rounded toe shoe/boot. ideally id like just a good looking classic chelsea boot in a dark brown leather, but i never seem to find any i really like.

  6. See! I told you I was confused. Now, before i explain myself any further...

    Thanks.

But, uh, to be honest with you, im kinda frontin when it comes to those glasses. There more for identiy protection (from t-shirt companies, naturally) then anything else. I could probably count on one hand the number of times ive worn them in public. Damn, i just felt like i let out my secret...meh.

    Protection from t-shirt companies?

    someone explain this.

  7. on a side note I blundered into some poison ivy in my SC Okinawas a week ago and now am trying to decide whether or not to wash them (at 3.5 months with no washing and one soak). damn the poison ivy!!!

a few weeks ago i went for a 10 mile hike in my SJ greycasts. Next day i woke up and had chiggers like crazy around my ankles! I thought at first i should wash the jeans because probably they were infested with the little insects, but i just let it go and for the next day or so i got a few more chiggers, but now im sure theres no more of them clinging to my jeans.

Of course, different than poison ivy, but id say wear them for a few days and see how it goes.

Also, theres a pretty nice paved bike path not to far from my house, so i go rollerblading on it once a week or so... seems to be pretty good for breaking in jeans, but without destroying the seat like riding a bike can do, but it doesnt really get the wear in the knee area like pedaling will.

  8. I recently started using a pair of RRDS that I took out of my rotation (bought them too large) to do my nightly jog :P People look at you kinda of weird though, running a track with jeans on...

i ride my bike in my jeans, ive played a little casual ultimate frisbee in jeans, i could imagine playing basketball in jeans (but not real intensely/competitively) but i can't imagine running any kind of distance in jeans... especially now (its damn hot out), that would be so uncomfortable and i sweat like crazy when i run

But, maybe i could use my nudie long johns in place of my running tights during the winter months.

  9. Could anyone tell me the difference between the helmut lang classic cut and italian cut?

from searching on here i know that some people have tried on/own both, but i didnt find anything comparing the cuts or really explaining either or the cuts.

Also, are there any other helmut lang cuts that anyone likes?

    thanks
