  2. I got the denim at my local fabric store. The denim on the pair that I posted is very smooth and somehow strange, which why I got curious about it and bought it. The other pair I made is regular denim though.

  3. Ok, here are some pics. Keep in mind that this was the first time I used a sewingmachine since elementary school. I didn't have an iron which made thing a bit difficult when folding the fabric.

    Ok, here we go:

Sorry about the bad lighting in the photos.

and as far as i can tell he has a pretty wack method

correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure you should ideally fill the screen and then pull it once

I've never messed around with the squeegee like that on smaller prints. It's just for when the print is wider than the squeegee, right? Or we do it differently?

But I do keep all my inks in shiny stainless steel bowls. That's the only way to do it.

  5. Jeans aren't really that complicated, I pulled if of pretty ok for my first sewing project a couple of weeks back.

Do what I did, take an old pair of jeans that you don't like anymore and take them apart carefully, trying to remember how everything was connected. Then copy each piece to a piece of cardboard or something and adjust anything that you didn't like about your old jeans.

  6. Maybe Shimokitazawa (spelling?) would be to your liking? Lots of small shops that sell various accessories/ kitch stuff. I also remeber that there were a big building that had some kind of "rent-a-box" system where designers/artists/small clothing labels could rent shelf space and sell their products. Pretty nice place. If I remember correctly it was close to village vanguard (at least that's how it's pronounced no idea about the spelling) and there was a pretty good record shop right across the street, there was a train crossing right after that building. Wasn't really hard to find.

kitchiyoji (Spelling..?) also have a lot of small accessorie shops. But not as "arty" as Shimokita.

this happens all the time in fashion trends. a new trend is sometimes a response to the previous one getting out of hand. as with the baggy hanging down to your knees jeans in the 90s going to such a ridiculous extreme with everyone trying to outdo each other, the same is happening with tight jeans. guys are actually buying womens jeans now in order to look like ballet dancers. the beginning of the trend is usually the most reasonable, like how stupid extreme the baggy low hanging jeans were getting, a few people start noticing it and take the initiative in bringing out a new look, the rest of society catches on because it's the time and place for that look to happen and then it just goes too far. its like people lose their persepective on how they look because its so commonplace to see a certain trend everywhere, and the more extreme it gets doesnt seem like a big deal because youre only seeing small increments, day to day.. they cant see it right now, but after this trend is killed by a new one and they look back, theyre going to think "holy crap, i actually wore that???" dont get me wrong, i dont care what people wear, but it does reflect man's tendency to follow the herd one way and then the other, back and forth in cycles, and sociology is an interest of mine, fashion is a good place to notice psychology

Wow, thank you for explaining that to us. You seem to have the inside scoop on how fashion works.
  8. That's nice to hear. I was really trying to hold of on the denim for a while while but this thread makes it kind of hard. But anyway, I hope I will like them as much as a lot of other people seem to do.

  9. I'm so nervous right now... I just ordered a pair of new standars in a W32. I'm a 33.5 waist. You all petter pray to god that they will stretch or you're in a lot of trouble! ;)
