  1. These are light and fade superfast. If you're not careful (like me :() they can rip easily. They will shrink back to their original size after you wash them, and MAYBE a tad in the length. I may have measured a quarter of an inch of loss in the length, but that may have been because of the honeycombs that developed.

These are my jeans after 5 weeks of wear and an unavoidable wash:

Edit: Fixed the first two pics, as they originally came out a bit too dark.

they look fine to me. The patch is the classic 55 one, haven't seen that tiny 'made in the usa' tag before, but otherwise looks totally legit. So does the denim, and the internal rivets, and the colour of the stitching looks as it should be on the 55 reissue.

The internal washing tag is different from those I've seen; none of my LVC has the batwing, instead they have simple print mentioning Levi Strauss & Co Europe. I only have sample and Euro reissues tho; does anyone have US-market LVC to compare?

If I were buying these I would want to see more details, because of those internal tags, which are similar to some on the Thai fakes - none of whihc look like this pair, tho - or I'd ask for a right of return. But if they are fake they are the best I've seen. It is in the nature of things that you can definitevely say jeans are fake, but it's harder to say definitively that they are genuine.

The most obvious question here is, where did you get them? On eBay in particular, if something looks too good to be true, then it is, and you're better to go for a supplier you know you can trust.

As I've mentioned, I've got quite a few US-market LVC's (55 and 33), and none of them have inside tags like that.
  3. I'm pretty sure that the Earnest Sewns are made of Japanese denim. My Fulton 53 Patriots are.

And these babies have broken in REALLY fast. Love em. :)

Edit: Never mind, the site had originally listed it as being from Japan, apparently it's not. My bad. Still love the jeans though.

  4. I found a few pairs of the 1955 Levi 501 jeans from the recent LVC collection.

I have sizes 28x36, 29x36 and 30x36. Substract 2 inches from the waist (and add one back on because they'll stretch that much) and 2.5 inches from the inseam to get the actual sizes.

I'm asking $140 shipped for these, making them about 50% off from the retail price (either $275 or $325, I forget).

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

They're not jacking your post, they're trying to help you and others out.

The bottom line is that Denim Bar (and even Barneys) have them for $120. You're asking for a higher price. If you want to sell them, you're going to have to lower your price, simply because people can get them for cheaper, brand new, from an actual store.

Yeah, I remember that day. I went to the Corner Bistro near the Meatpacking District with my best friend, since he was visiting the city and it's such an awesome burger joint. I realized that I was out of ketchup, so I just swiped a bottle from the box that was behind my chair. icon_smile_evil.gif

I was looking for the address, because minya asked me to see if they still had their M65 jackets. So I went from Swatch, and then across the street to Atrium, and I was all confused. icon_smile_sad.gif

IMO the store is set up nice but I don't see where the clothes justify the price tag, especially the button up shirts with fairly generic prints that are in upwards of $200 but I suppose if anyone is going to pay that type of $$$ it's heads in NYC.

Answer honestly, how long did it take you to find NDG in the first place?

Because I had to stop in the swatch store next door before I was able to find it. icon_smile_shy.gif
