  2. id love to, but id also like to know that i have support of other members before i do. i do apoligise if you took offense, but you are the most vocal representitive of the owner and thats why i used your name. pm me with the owners email and if this gets sufficent support then i will talk to him/her and present my case.

i do agree with getting rid of inflamatory posts and subjects as they do nothing to further understanding and discussion. i also know that there are other sites that have these kind of discussions. but i feel that superfuture is a distinct(SHIT, MAYBE SPECIAL) site that has a group of diverse and interesting people and could produce discussions that are just as diverse and ineresting.

  3. since minya doesnt want us to talk about anything not related to his jeans on here, im wondering who supports the creation of a section for discussing politics, current events, and the like. i feel that this community has the intellegence and self control to keep it civil and interesting, even enlighening, so why should we have to keep it to ourselves? anyone who is with me here just post and show them the desire to have it.

its a meditation for me now tho. i can clear my mind and let my body do what it has to do to land the trick. most relaxing thing in the world.

  11. inspired by the hardcore thread...

so ive been doing this shit since... off and on from 89 to 93, constant since 93... and i really dont know where i would be without it. its been the one constant in my life, when everything was falling down around me i knew i could just skate and clear my mind. ive met alot of interesting people, and i konw that no matter where i go, i can skate and have friends. its opened my eyes to alot of new music, art, styles, ideas, etc....

without skateboarding i wouldnt be who or where i am today.

  12. seriously, why did you post this? to show off your expensive jeans so you can impress some nerds around the world? you barely have any creases or anything. try again in 6 months.

Wow, it seems like a lot of you take (or took) clothes/fashion really, really seriously. That's a little scary.

well... i take how people perceive me very seriously. i may not wear the latest designer shit or 300$ jeans, but i feel the need to always look put together and to stand out. i would rather have people telling me i look like a model or some shit than to just look like a bum. but i think alot of it(for myself anyways) comes from insecurity. when i was younger, i was insecure about my looks , and would just hide under the "skater" uniform- baggy jeans and a xl logo tee. when i decided to make a change from that i noticed the compiments i was getting, and its kinda addicting. im better about it now, but it used to take me forever to get ready to go anywhere, even to the store to get dinner, because i had to look just right. the smallest imperfection was enough to make me change the whole outfit. try on 3 pairs of jeans, 4 shirts, a couple pairs of shoes, and then go out and be back home in 30 min. i was pretty obsessive about it.

no one even noticed the time and details except me.

so now im backing off a bit. if a tee has a stain, sometimes ill just turn it inside out. ive gotten rid of alot just to narrow down my choices. i basicly have 4 pairs of jeans, 3 or 4 tee shirts, maybe 2 vintage polos and a couple button ups, and i wanna keep it that way. ive actually made a personal rule, if i buy an item of clothing i will give away something similar, like trading one for the other. it not only keeps my closet uncluttered, but makes me really examine my purchases, and the motives behind them.

oh... this has to bee the most interesting thread ive seen here. thank you everyone who contributed, it seems many had alot to get off thier chest.

  16. i love real mil stuff... ive got a m-65, 1970s peacoat, 1970s cold weather jacket, early 70s usaf dress tunic, early 60s shirt, early 60s work pants... and some other shit... there are 2 navy bases here in town so alot of stuff ends up at the thrift stores. i didnt pay more than 10$ for any of those items.
