  1. i downloaded that .pdf, pretty crazy images

can anyone recommend some fonts similar to calligraphy?

i would suggest a good graff writer. I know most of the awr guys tattoo now but I believe there shop is based in LA.

  2. yea, I haven't had their collabo beers since the original Mikkeller / alesmith Belgian triple (which I still have a bunch of). I heard the one they did with Maui was good. I hardly purchase stone nowadays but one every so often is a good reminder why I love craft beer.

  3. a generous co-worker donated a Stone collabo bottle Highway 78 bottle to me. I guess the only thing to do is return the favor, right? I know he has a stash of older lost abbey stuff as well that I might have to ask him about.

  4. Good to know the Flower Power is ok. Most of that stuff should be fairly fresh, only ones I'm not sure about are the Southern Tier beers because for whatever reason they don't use any kind of dating system on the bottles.

That Nelson had a really different taste than what I was expecting -- the rye didn't come through anything close to what I'm used to tasting in a rye beer, and the hop profile was definitely different with the Nelson Sauvin hops. The mouthfeel/appearance of the beer was also a lot creamier than any other IPAs I've come across. Haha, might be asking you to proxy me some more in the near future :D

not a problem, ill make sure to grab some Duet next time as well. can't go wrong with any of their IPAs.

  5. glad those beers made it there safely.. did it look like the inspected the package?

    also...

this was really enjoyable as it came pretty close to a west coast IPA in terms of malt/hop flavor.

a pure hoppiness on friday is always a good thing.

looks like i got something in the mail too... huge thanks Shufon! looks like this trade will keep me busy for a few weeks.

  6. I've tried a few black IPAs and just don't like the style. not much hop flavor for me as it seems more balanced around the malt complex. I know Mikkeller is making a black coffee IPA but that just sounds like something I'd skip in general, though they do a really great job at making some west coast styled IPAs.

  7. @youkinorn that looked awesome but damn everything was so pricey sand the goddamn glassware sucked. those ipa & dipa should've been in tulips!

looks like tasters to me. the tulip glasses for IPAs and DIPAs are debatable. most breweries/pubs/bars usually do tulips if it's above 8% abv or if they are offering a class.

edit: youkinorn beat me to it.

Yeah those beers look great but I would have cried if I had to shell out 7.50 for that small of a pour

I envy the NY growler rules, only can get fills at the brewery or pre-filled growlers in stores (of which the selection is minimal)

edit: speaking of NY growler fills, looks like WFM Bowery has Hill Farmstead on tap 16$ for a 64 oz growler

I thought growler fills were same across the board. can only use the breweries growler and if it states a specific beer from the brewery, it can only

    be filled with that beer.

  8. damn shufon, you seem to trade frequently. is that the package from the guy on BA? i was amazed whole foods did growler fills as they don't do it in CA or at least SD. first time i saw it was in Portland and they were filling stone oaked arrogant.

also shufon..looks like they finally updated the tracking...

  9. f your finding sculpin for that price, they must have some deal locked in because 8 is retail and ballast point is about two miles away from me. damn I want a bottle of sculpin now. I don't think they will be bottling dorado anymore since sculpin received so many awards.
