  1. looks like all you would really need is new bars and some fenders. and replace ur cranks obviously if they are stripped. you'll need a new frame if you are going to run multiple gears instead though

  2. god damn im still waiting for my aero a-2!!! ordered on oct 18 wtf the wait is killing me! scared to email amanda again as i inquired about the status a few times already... lol. im hoping it'll be worth the wait but man it's starting to get warm here already!

  3. chari is like a tiny ass fixie boutique if you're into that kinda stuff, i like nycvelo as an overall bike shop. they know their stuff in all categories

also, thinking bout selling my sweet fixie to get a tricross comp, it'll be my only bike along with my mtn bike. i heard there was a recall on the forks though, is that something i should worry about? also, any other bikes i should look into for commuting n occasional touring?

  4. yea, i'll try to get some pics tonight megatron. and yes wgmds, they break in very easily. i wear them like any other shoe i have, mostly city treking. to me though i do feel like they don't scuff up to easily because they don't have that shine like dress leather does.

  5. Ed (Demonito) says that CXL is awful, and doesn't understand why anyone would choose it over dress or smooth leather, which he says ages much better.

Personally I have no experience of CXL yet (my Whites oxfords are being made from CXL, and I felt the wrath of Ed), but I'll let you know my impressions from new.

My White's oxfords are made with CXL as well and they definitely don't feel like a very substantial shoe... not a bad thing though, they are quite pliable and comfortable. They are holding up well though, no complaints on the toughness of the leather, they are showing little wear on them after having owned them for maybe 2 years

  6. lol i know right... i just was never a fan of the way they built their bindings. a couple things i didn't like was their toe strap (but i think they recently fixed that), nothing is tool less, their screw holding the ladder and strap would come loose from constantly moving the straps. they weren't damp at all, well my forces atleast. they had padding that was recessed into the baseplate so you couldn't even consider it at useful. you couldn't even rotate the highbacks properly because the shape of it wouldn't fit in the heel cup if you rotated it all the way (inner most screw on one side and outter most screw on the other, you can do max outta/inner screw on one and middle screw on the other) also no cant on any of them, even though i think it's somewhat of a gimmick anyways
