  1. yesterday we had arrived in christchurch

from the train station to our hotel i had seen enough and got all choked up to the point where i didnt think i would be able to go out with out being an over empathizing mess

the next morning we headed out so mr could show us some of the places he had been working (by us i mean his daughter and i... i know jeans cant see)

    first stop lyttelton

    abandoned funky paint job building

    3ch1.jpg

    steep town this

    3ch2.jpg

eclectic cafe that used to be in funky paint job building, now in dull building

    3ch3.jpg

this place had awesome staff and amazing food and coffee and i might get mr to go back and pick up a drawing that was for sale there too, loved the place

even if the wall was held up with a screwdriver

    3ch4.jpg

the view... most of the buildings here will either be demolished or need extensive repair work done, the one on the left is sitting empty as the structure is too compromised now

    3ch5.jpg

from here we drove out to akaroa over a massive hill

    3ch6.jpg

    3ch7.jpg

    fresh fish sandwiches...

    3ch8.jpg

drove back again stopping at the top of another big hill to look at everything

    3ch9.jpg

including an army guy going for a run with a fully loaded pack

    3ch10.jpg

    .

  2. Loving the idyllic-looking destination, tg! (as most of your destinations seem to be)

thats cause im stuck at the bottom of the earth where everything is all peace and purity... just dont look over there on the other side of town, http://renaoilspill.co.nz/

is you buckle prong thing bent as or is it trick photography?

im so happy my jeans and belt will still be looking brand new long after yours have fallen apart, the grapes were probably sour anyway

    we got off the boat

    2ach1.jpg

had a quick look around picton

    2ach2.jpg

its spring down here just incase you didnt know

    2ach3.jpg

then headed for our next mode of transport

    2ach4.jpg

    went past wineries

    2ach5.jpg

    and over roads and rivers

    2ach6.jpg

    past salt lakes

    2ach7.jpg

    along beaches

    2ach8.jpg

with snow capped mountains on the other side

    2ach9.jpg

and camera battery died so didnt get pictures of seals or anything else today

a few weekends ago we helped cut down a tree

    mud1.jpg

since then ive been really busy at work as deadlines are looming so ive had stressed out girls trying to get their projects finished

my man is home again so we went for a walk to check out what has been done up the hill on the tracks

    mud2r.jpg

replanting with natives (was forestry/pine before)

    mud5.jpg

crazy bridge to nowhere the down hill boys have abandoned mid job

    mud6.jpg

across to the summit, i used to hike up there most days until i rediscovered bikes and getting there faster

    mud7.jpg

more XC tracks but in 9 foot high gorse. natives are getting big and strong here too

    mud8.jpg

did i mention it is raining... lovely spring weather

    mud9.jpg

  4. very nice fit sweapea. they look really nice on you since you're athletic enough to pull them off without looking frumpy.

fixed for you... tall enough does not equal non frumpy cause im 5'11" and look frumpy as a big frumpy thing in mine

    is a good fit though

adh92 has the best ROY style lately

  5. 6163062558_283f2d42e1_z.jpg

wondered where those chubby little bottles came from... one of the elite riders i was support crew for at the start of the year had them but he filled them with shots of fresh brewed super strong black coffee and manuka honey

time to go visit the roid looking lady at the supplement shop

  6. woken up to the sound of a weird bird

was a pheasant on the neighbours roof, saus is unimpressed

    end1t.jpg

went for a walk down and around again

    end2a.jpg

markets under the new shade sail things

loads of crafty crap and these men making noise

    end3.jpg

loving the first sunny day in months

    end4t.jpg

    trees

    end5.jpg

damn bird was waiting for me when i got home

    end6.jpg

it flew up on my leg and pecked at me, then it followed me up the drive and up the stairs and i shut the door on it, it pecked at the door

then went to watch some girls dance so i could come up with costumes for them, sorry no pics of teenage girls in tights

    then went for a paddle

    end7.jpg

to try out my new underwater camera

    end8.jpg

    and new carbon paddle

    end9n.jpg

    there were creepy birds watching

    end10.jpg

then we went out on a diner date

    the end

  7. went for a walk down and around the basin

    imposter!

    weekend1.jpg

new shade sail things on old unused bridge

    weekend2.jpg

new art on the boardwalk (its a giant eel net)

    weekend3.jpg

    new seats and new grass

    weekend4.jpg

    more new art

    weekend5.jpg

    old art

    weekend7.jpg

reason council is spending all this money and making stuff look nicer

    weekend8.jpg

    home to drink free wines

    weekend9.jpg

  8. would be nice if there were more people with less history and less baggage

(but if you were still all no kissy virgin like at my age they would make a crappy blockbuster movie about you)

  9. went to cyclocross

didnt ride cause someone needed to count laps n times n stuff

its f'ing cold at the moment

it snowed at my place the other day

    its not normal

today we had crispy clear sharp cold

    cross1v.jpg

    cross2x.jpg

    cross3.jpg

i dont own any actually warm clothes as it doesnt normally get bellow 10 here so i borrowed some of my mans hoarded retro warm stuff

  10. old lady long dead hung out at a house i stayed at in the south island

she does stuff like pulling your bedding up (exposing feet and legs up to knees)

i stayed their 2 nights and always felt like there was a cat on my bed or something and my blankets were messed up in the morning even though i sleep quit still, then when the owners arrived they asked if we had met her and told us about her, i was like @_@ and didnt sleep much after that

still dont believe in stuff though

and no one lit a fire under my bed either

  11. How do you like them now TG?

well... it all made me really appreciate the incredibly high standard of craftsmanship ROY put into each pair of these, as i was working on them i kept noticing more details i had overlooked. the cinch construction is making me curiouser and curiouser, but yeah everyone knows his work is innovative and perfect

im happy with them, they will be worn for years now like my skulls were, they will be much more versatile now that they are closer to my size and the length sits heaps better on more of my shoes. wish id measured better to start with

  12. finally got time, thanks to crap weather, to finish down sizing my ROYs

used my shitty old domestic machine for the straight seams

    crap1.jpg

mega train tracks... and the train will derail

    crap2w.jpg

hemmed up using industrial and fat as thread

    crap3w.jpg

didnt change shape much, mostly de frumped, sorry crappy pics to match my mood

    crap4t.jpg

    crap5.jpg

    crap6f.jpg

just noticed i forgot to re topstitch the top of the side seams, ooops, they are in the bath now, will do that later when i put new mismatched rivets in
