  1. BM - Agreed. I think it is the tone of the yellow stitching that makes them stand out and also the bottom of the arc is blunt rather than coming to point which, to me, makes them to be a more visible feature than other makers. That all being said, I'm not such a fan of levi's style arcs anyway so my view is not wholly objective.

  2. The guy in the bowler hat is John. Dont know about another john but it is a year since I was last there.

MF has managed that good trick of making sure that there are loads of pieces you could put together so you it would be quite easy to leave the store with a complete outfit/look.

  3. I am most interested in how the tailor can competently produce a pair of jeans. Now, I am no expert at all but surely cutting a pair of jeans is quite different from cutting a pair of (literally tailored) trousers?

And if it is custom made jeans you are after, why not order from people who will do just that and are experts, in addition to having access to different denim fabrics. I'm thinking ooe yofuketen as one example or rising sun as another. Seems easier to me and also meets your brief (save that it is not your tailor doing it?). The only real difference of course is the lack of true tailoring experience in that unless you make your way to japan or LA, you arent going to get measured up.

Also. how much would a tailor charge for a pair of jeans? Is is cost effective?

  4. The bigger neck hole is the real vintage way to wear them though! Any idea where to pick up Whitesville sweats these days? Struggling to find a true vintage fit since BR did away with the old version of their sweats. Other brands seem to do modern-ish fits now, even the jp ones. And too long in the body for me.

  5. No surprise, the westerns are cut a bit slimmer. FH shirt sizing is weird though. A few years ago I easily fit into a 42 black mint shirt, then it was 44 for the houndstooth western and then 46 for winter flannels! And I still weigh the same so cannot even blame it on weight gain. That new wabash shirt is looking good too.

  6. There is a shortage of worn Whites on here. Just saying....

The only thing that prevents me from getting a pair is my flattish feet and a weird bit of muscle on the sole of my left foot not likely to work with the arch ease system. Has anyone gone for a quarter inch lowered heel and seen a difference?

  7. What's your opinion on Pike Brothers sweats. Picked one up the other day and while they're not loopwheeled, compared to the Buzz sweats that the shop also carried, I thought the fit and weight of the Pike bros sweat won hands down- plus over 1/3rd cheaper :)

    Where was that from please?
