  1. I would leave the extant/extinct thing to that other brand and just go with fc or warehouse round about now but thats just my opinion.Thinking of a pair of warehouse myself at the moment so we will see who gets there first.

  2. 3 blow outs in 8 months suggests that your jeans are too small or that you place unusual amounts of stress on that area e.g through cycling perhaps? Or you may just have ended up with a poor quality pair but that is most unlikely. Think about sizing up next time.

  3. That is a fair point and I have read that also (think it was kiya who said it somewhere) although I doubt it would make any material difference in terms of how long the jeans would last if you waited a while before the first soak. How about a quick dip just to soften them up but limit shrinkage?

  4. I just picked up a pair of RN04s and wanted to know if I can wait and wear for a few months without an initial soak. I am a little heavier now and the fit is comfortable...in a few months, I will be trimmed down and I expect the post-soak size to fit better. Is it ok to wait to soak a pair of unsanforized?

There are no rules about when to soak - you can wear them raw until they fall apart if you want. Of course, if you wear them and then wash or soak, they will shrink. General consensus is to soak or wash now, get shrinkage out of the way and they look/feel nicer too.

How you have managed to get a pair of Roys and not know all of this is baffling!

  5. Agreed, part of the fascination of denim is how the different cuts are worn by the wearer. I really like that Paul T has gone for a 60s dynamic and has had them shortened for that very reason. I think the look is perfect. Its not simply somebody wearing a pair of jeans, its putting together a look (no dig at setterman or bm either - I like setterman's looks too).
