  1. You can start off pretty well that way.

    1. Just do a couple of designs in fairly low quantities and sell to your friends.

    2. The rest will sell through word-of-mouth if the product's any good.

    3. Put ALL the money back into the company.

    4. Repeat until you have a decent customer-base/awareness level and coincidentally, a bigger budget.

Then develop a small catalog and try to push to stores.

Unless you already know the ins and outs of the industry, have a SOLID plan, and have something really special, theres no way you are ready to go retail right away. There's alot to learn along the way.

  2. Not exactly on this topic, but I've got a pair of those all white leather sb deltas.

Has anyone ever skated delta forces? I'm wondering if it's worth it.

  3. Those Huf 4 runners someone mentioned are interesting. It's an actual running shoe though being made by DVS. I wouldn't think they would skate any better than an actual Air Max 90.. anyone done that?

  4. I concur. Do what you want, but don't say you weren't warned when you look back and say "what the fuck was I doing!?"

On a side note: Sega Master System fucking rules shit.

  5. I couldn't have said it better myself rhythmandsound!

Glad there's more skaters out there who aren't afraid to think outside the box. .. The overly-wide, thick-soled, ugly, piece of garbage box.

  6. While Nike itself is obviously in it for the money, the SB division isn't.

In many instances where they could wholesale shoes to alot of shops for much higher prices, they are cutting the accounts that charge prices significantly above their MSRP.

  7. The amount of money they are making / could be making in their SB division is minimal compared to the revenues coming in from the rest of the company.

They know exactly what they are doing with the SB stuff. Really, there isn't THAT much money to be made, they're still working on winning over the skaters. And they are doing a decent job thus far. Marketing machine.

Shops like PacSun don't even get the good stuff from the companies they currently carry.. DC, Etnies, Es, Globe, IPath, etc. all send only their general releases there. The highest selling models in the most common colorways. So if they do get Nike, which I highly doubt, they'll get something like those mocha + grit dunks at best. 6.0 line I can see.

  8. I was tempted by some adidas proshell STs the other day.. they really beefed up the padding nicely. Real clean croc leather too.

I've never skated any shelltoes personally but I've heard good things and I'm sure the ST treatment feels great.

  9. Great complilation Bobby!

I just wanna say to all you hating on Hypebeast.. the whole idea behind the site is simply finding the latest 'hype' and posting it up so you don't have to spend time searching it out yourself.

Be thankful for it, or just leave it be. It's for YOU, remember that.

I work with Hypebeast.com and you can be assured there's no money in it, any revenue is just enough to cover costs. I'm just down with the cause: spreadin' the news.

  10. It's been a while but playing these games made up a large portion of my life:

    Super Mario series

    Street Fighter 2

    Grand Theft Auto

    Tony Hawk

    and last but not least:

    Counter-Strike -- I was so addicted.

  11. Awww comeon Westmount. Pants in general look just fine with them.

I like em best with denim. Some like to wear 'em with Dickies type pants (see: The Game)

  12. eS Accels are the best shoes I've ever skated.

Dunks feel great but wear out way too fast.

    Shoe Goo is godsent.

My buddy is skating some of the DGK Reebok Workout; I'm tempted to try em out too.

  13. When you started this thread what were you talking about? When I hear converse I immediately think only of Chuck Taylors, and then slowly the Jack Purcells creep into my memory.

I assumed you were asking how we felt about Chucks since those are what you are most likely seeing all over. aka Converse All-Stars

    ^That's what they look like.

  14. I'm a partial to the ol the cuff and drag myself ... I'm not a huge fan of the cuff but for some reason I always end up buying jeans that are just a little too long and I can never be bothered to hem them.. so it's a small cuff and then they drag otherwise its straight up dragging.

Cons were cool. now theyre just "wannabe trainers" personally ive never wanned to get a pair

Sorry .. I really tried to resist .. but come on ..

More like dunks were cool now they're for wannabes.

I think it's safe to say Chucks are timeless. Purcells are super clean too.

  16. I have a pair of paper denim jeans, and they are probably the most comfortable and best fitting jeans I own. I'm not too into the wash, although at the time of purchase I was pretty excited about it. I have seen some very nice washes though.

They dont do any selvage pieces but they do use a very nice ringring denim. (compared with what I've worn.. I'm sure there's better)

I guess Paper Denim is pretty trendy in the celeb circles, but really what does it matter.. if you spend all your time avoiding being trendy or being a trendwhore, what's the difference. Wear what you like, not what someone else said you should/shouldn't.

  17. Sorry if I came off a little critical.

I can see what you're saying now.. the comment before had me a little stunned. Like sayin I wanna rock one of those curly white haired wigs because Thomas Jefferson rocked them in the 1790s.(that statement may be historically inaccurate)

    Much respect to Biggie.
