  1. Excellent discussion and great to see it remain civilized.

I also fall into the 'Western-sized' category (6'1", 215lbs) and IH works for bigger guys. I would like to wear Flat Head, but after trying on every 36" pair at Tate & Yoko, nothing fit properly.

Same boat as you... Wanted to try Flat Head and it just didn't fit well.

  2. Neither of those two jeans are cut like the Slim Jim, i would look at the Strike Gold 1105, 2105, or 3105.  Those are cut far closer to the Slim Jim.

I own both the Nudie Slim Jim and the SG3105 and will second that they are close in style. If you want something only slightly slimmer check out the 3sixteen SL-100x (I own these as well).

  3. The Liquor Store focuses on the elevated collection from J. Crew. We eliminate a lot of basics and focus on the higher-end that J. Crew offers. Aside from that, we also have partnership brands that you won't find in other stores. We carry a wide assortment of Wallace & Barnes that isn't in many J. Crew Shops. It's essentially a curated collection from what J. Crew offers that emphasizes the finest goods we offer.

The building itself is a refurbished old bar. Andy Spade designed the space working with the existing bar and layout. The building was erected in 1804 as a house. It was a liquor store for many years, then a bar called The Liquor Store. It's now a landmark building in New York, so the sign cannot be removed (though we wouldn't want to anyway). It's a great piece of New York history that I think J. Crew has treated with respect in its appropriation of it to brand and sell its menswear.

Sounds like its worth the trip. Thanks!

  4. I see you got the arrowhead pop-over. Looks good, man. If you're ever in NY, come see me at The Liquor Store.

Whats the Liquor Store actually like? I've hit up the Men's shop on Broadway, but never made it down to the Liquor Store. Sounds like an interesting concept.

  5. Selling a couple pairs of jeans I've "grown" out of. Well, I mean "got to fat to fit in"

  6. My okinawa's came in the mail today! So excited. It's pouring rain in Calgary for the next few days so fit pics will have to wait. I went tts and although they are baggier than what I'm used to, I love the fit!

How much did they run all told? What seller did you get them from on Rakuten?

  7. So we should be seeing an expanded selection? I'm very interested in actually trying on some Hawaii and Okinawa before purchasing at SENY.

    Very excited by this development!

  8. Yup, we have one left at SELA if you'd like to place a phone order for it.  Our number there is 323-933-9000

Kiya, thanks again for looking, but it turns out SELA only had a Navy one in XL, not the black. I'll keep my eyes peeled for when these drop again in the fall.

  9. hit me up if you have ps or ns to sell in 33 or 34

Sent you an IM. I have a tagged size 32 NS but they measure 17" at the waist. They are barely worn with minimal fades.

  10. Emailed, but really, I don't need anything. SE has provided so much info, personal advice, and just amazing Customer Service that I wouldn't consider shopping anywhere else.

Thanks again for being an awesome company.

As expected, SENY and Kiya came through amazingly. Thomas helped me sorting between multiple brands and I came away very happy in a pair of SG 3105 (shame I was too fat for the Flat Heads I had been eyeing, LOL).

My only regret of the visit was ringing them up a shade too late to be able to buy them lunch ;)

Thanks again Thomas, Andrew, and Kiya!
