  1. My GF has a pair of FH Balders that she doesn't wear. They are a size 31 that have been cold soaked and worn maybe twice.

If anyone is interested in them I'm sure she would let them go at a cheap price.

I can get measurements if interested, just PM me.

It always amazes me how the 47's look slim on one person versus looking like bell bottoms on another person.  Even on myself, they are wider in the legs so to speak.  Maybe it's just me.

    Right there with you.

Saw lots of people wearing the 47's, went and tried on a pair, and was all WTF? Seems the 2014 is a better fit for me.

  3.

Hello - I'm looking for a pair of jeans for my ladyfriend. I have done a bit of reading, but i'm still not sure. Her actual waist is around 30, hips around 36 and butt around 38. I'm worried something even with stretch will be too loose in the legs, while fitting the waist fine. I'll keep looking through this thread. But any suggestions for someone with not a ton of waist hip ratio would be great. She doesn't like anything with very low of a rise. I'm considering the Railcar Vixen X028 but even then, I'm not sure exactly what size to get her. Because it stretches, going a sz under might be reasonable.. but in your experience, is that actually too tight?

edit: shit i might be wrong about those measurements.... something close tho.

Just reach out to Taylor at Rail Car directly. She really knows their line and measurements and will def guide you to the right fit. They're also very keen on making sure the fit is right (exchanges have never been an issue for me).

  4. I'd be open so some oxfords as well, doesn't need to be a slip-on. Just looking for a grey, maybe black...

I think the red wing model you're after is the romeo but it may be discontinued. and I think the santa rosa model looks quite a bit cooler.

Thanks, I'll look and see what i out there.

Being Australian and growing up with elastic sided paddock boots, these American below ankle versions never look quite right...

Maybe they look better on the feet?

I wish boots felt comfortable but for some reason my heel always is uncomfortable in boots. I've tried multiple brands with no success.

  5. Does anyone have any recommendations for a boot similar to the Santa Rosa Fillmore? Looking for something in grey, suede preferred. Basically something to wear at work (business casual) and out and about with jeans. Not looking for true, over the ankle boots, as they never feel quite comfortable.

    Boot in question:

  6. Thanks I'm a 36....

And also thanks to superjackie but those SE make ups are long gone in my size....

I have some old SExSC06 in a size 36 that are well worn but still wearable if you're interested. I'd be happy to pass them along for a couple bucks plus shipping.

  7. Where'd be the best place to order Sugarcane from Japan? I'm looking to pick up a black pair and I'm weighing my options outside of Selfedge. Hinoya?

I purchased a pair from Hinoya and it was super easy and they're fast to ship as well.

  8. Selling a couple pairs that I'm just not wearing. Prefer Paypal payment and shipping via USPS.

  9. I swear SC is underrated.

I completely back this. I've worn IH, SG, SOC, and the jeans I keep coming back to are my Sugar Canes. The price, the denim, and a pretty reasonable selection of fits make Sugar Cane great. Currently wearing a pair of SC2009 that have been tapered slightly and I love them. I scored a pair of the Hinoya 50/50 denim in the 2014 fit this year and I can't wait for it to cool off so I can start wearing them.

  10. I can confirm how great this service is as well. Railcar tapered a pair of Sugar Cane 2009 for me and the were perfect.

Ordering the service from their website was easy as well, the form has all the right questions for you to detail exactly where and how much you want the jeans tapered.

Sugar Cane for Self Edge - Lightweight Okinawa 509SE Jean

These are limited to 90 pairs and only available at Self Edge Mexico or you can order a pair (with free shipping) by emailing us.

Did the ordering process change? I can see them in the online shop currently...

Should I proceed to order there or should I send an email?

  12. can anyone compare sugar cane 2009 to 2014?

seems like the taper is a bit slimmer for 2014? is it noticeable?

i'm kind of irritated, i called in to SE for a recommendation for slim fit with a higher rise. i was steered to 2009, did not know 2014 existed but now i am thinking it would have been a better choice.

I have both and honestly I'd say the rise is almost the same in each and the difference in leg opening is very minimal.

That said, I also had Rail Car taper my 2009 pair so they had a taper similar to my SG5109 jeans and it made all the world of difference (and was cheap to boot!).

  13. Elmcitizen,

Have you soaked or washed these? Interested to know how much they shrank.

    Thanks in advance.

No soak yet, I doubt they will shrink much. My 2009 did not change at all after a wash. I know the denim is different, but most of the "washed" SC jeans usually have all the shrink out.

Then again, not much experience with the 50/50 denim.
