the RR Dry Selvage definately run big. I am 34 waist in most jeans, and i got 33 in RR, and i probably could even fit better in a 32. Im hoping when i finally wash them they shrink a little.

same here. it's just that i got a 34 so i always need to wear a belt.
  2. this is the bottomline. you read a lot of stuff on denim from different people. it seems like, based on APC's long thread that it's the favored brand for most of us here.

you get to read the countless arguements and what have you on all aspects of the denim. in the end, it is you who decide which pair is really something you desire. this is obviously out of all the things you've read and digested in this forum.

you go and buy yourself a pair like I did. i'm happy with my purchase because of certain qualities that appeal to me. period. in the end, it is your judgement that makes you contented and not what others think should be the norm.

might as well stop reading this forum if you don't think that you do not benefit from what people say here. whether right or wrong, you be the judge and base your actions accordingly.

    Hey Trini

the price will range from about $250 and $275. i will not know the final price until the goods have landed, so bear with me.

The slimmer fit if I can remember correctly is the Frontier and the Novelty, we'll let you know for sure later.

though some styles are baggy, it looks great on and sits proper. I am not a big fan of baggy jeans, but there is something quite laid-back about the ALD'S. Check out other threads about what people say about these jeans. I have hunted these fro the past year and a half, finally met ALD in Berlin.

Hope you stop by and give 'em a look.

P.S. SJ mostlikey knocked off the pocket details - that is why ALD does not show the jeans entirely on their website.

    Cheers

thanks Richard! do inform me if you have them available. would be interested to see the frontier. although i live in Asia, i hope that we could arrange something for me to avail of an ALD. i've been traacking it down for the past year now...

all ALD jeans have the baggy fit, except for one from the newest collection, it's a more slimmer one. this means i finally get to wear ALD since the baggy fit on raw denims doesn't look very good on me. probably get one next month, in amsterdam there are a lot of stores selling ALD so it wont be any problem finding themicon_smile_wink.gif

Would it be a straight cut/relaxed fit? what do you call the model of the non-baggy ALD? Maybe you could buy one for me and ship it to Asia?icon_smile_wink.gif LOL

I just love their design, quite original!

  5. Thanks guys. I think what I saw is the new line. Although, it is quite "normal" looking, I like its simplicity and a more understated look than the y-3s. I'm not a big fan of the fp-cdg collab shirts as well and still buy the original fp's that are made in england. y-3's are quite dramatic with their designs and has become a fashion statement in my part of the globe. that's the least company i would like to be with.

  6. The assassins have a very nice fade if you like jeans that have little room for fading. I had the opportunity to choose between the assassin, devastate, stasis, sniper, and low tide. I chose the sniper. It's got really nice indigo and the imperfect shades of indigo just makes it so unique.

  7. yes. the RRs in dry selvage stretch out. it would initially shrink when you soak it in water before the first time you wear them. but mine got loose after some use. i'm a 32 in APC english and I got a 34 in Nudie RRs. i wish i got a 33. but like you, i like them a bit loose the 34s are tolerable. it all depends on how loose or fit you want to wear them.

  8. I just picked up this ritual here at supertalk. A lot of people who post here seems to know a lot about denim and there is logic to it. It gives you a fading effect that represents how you actuallly wear your denim instead of jeans that are pre-washe which have fades in places that are in the wrong places.

  9. Nudie RRs dry selvage

    APC English

    Rogan Sniper

    Loomstate Mission

    Paul Smith black tab

    Facconable in light wash

    Hurley Carpenters

    2 Lucky Brand classic dungarees

Rip Curl jeans (don't know the model)

    Replay jeans (yuck!)

    Wishlist:

any 2 to 3 more japanese denim like Sugarcanes, Denime, Samurai

    and a pair of vintage Levi's preferably a 1947 or 1955

  10. nst, I have the same issue with my Nudie dry RRs. The hemm does have a distinct stitching. There are tailors that can cut it then attach the hemm back but due to the nature of the RRs being a bit bootcut, this is not possible.

Appreciate it if anyone can shed light on the matter.
