  1. interesting...to clarify, exactly what part is the "orange bar tacking"....i am assuming that is some detail in the back pocket stitching?

*also of note on these is that there is no patch, which is irregular for "new or worn once jeans". the Levis red tab itself looks oddly indistinguishable, like the white text completely bled off the tab

  2. jacket looks all good. i find that my 506xx 90s repro has a *perfect* length, falling at around the bottom of my belt. (size 40)

cheap price too, esp for a larger size which seem to end up costing more when folks are bidding.

  3. grew up listening to oi, hardcore and punk since mid 80s

    nowadays:

    50s-60s R&B, doowop, rockabilly/50s rock n roll, 60s mod & soul/motown, 79 mod revival, 79 era powerpop/punk (buzzcocks, THE JAM, undertones etc)

like some new stuff like Hives, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Sahara Hotnights etc

  4. i have a pair of RR dry selvage and love them. great fit for me.

coincidental to this thread, i am going to get a pair of APC dry selvage standards as soon as i am off this damn internet thing

+1 on the Nudie stitching. i like it, unique without being TOO obtrusive (evisu anyone)

  5. i got Nudie RR dry selvage at Barneys

am getting a pair of APC standard dry selvage in about 2 hours from now at Hollywood Trading Co.

American Rag is hit/miss....right now it's miss for dry selvage

then there are the "Evil" jeans (Levi buckleback repros) that Sugar Lee Nick is selling in Long Beach at his shop for $95

  6. not sure what store you're referring to.

but Sugar Lee on 4th St antique/vintage row has some raw selvage Levis repro (called Evil) with bucklebacks selling for $95. supposedly the denim is made in Thailand on a Japanese shuttle loom machine. they're not bad...a bit loosely cut tho which throws me off. but i imagine these are great if yer a "bigger" boy esp since the waist sizes go up higher than "high end" selvage makers

  7. Hardy tattoos hella fast, but charges $450/hour. not too into his "new" style of tattooing but his traditional japanese and american style tattoos are superb.

Von Dutch was a self admitted "nazi". ironic that this brand is(was) so big in the hippityhoppity community. He must be rolling in his grave, but that's what happens when your kin sells your name out for a couple $.

*oh yea, Hardy has a store on Melrose, right near fairfax....driven past it a million times but have never bothered to go in for a look.

  8. The Levis store in South Coast used to have the vintage repros but not anymore.

i got a pair of 501xx from there right before they stopped carrying them last.

you'd think that Levis would see the big picture and embrace their own heritage and keep the XX lines in their staple

  9. the type 1 506xx is a great jacket. i am wearing mine today matter of fact.

but they are very hard to find, even on ebay. and you'll probably pay around $250-$300 if you find a deadstock repro. I just recently saw a good condition original vintage 506xx and it was at about $700 with quite a bit of time left on the auction.

other than the Vintage Levis, there arent too many denim jackets i am partial to. Altho i do like the looks of the dry Nudie jacket.
