  1. Here are some threadless tees I have, and obviously like:

(I like the lower placement of the design)

    This one is silly...

    http://www.threadless.com/product/226/Nothing

    Looks even better faded...

My favorite threadless design, check this guy's work, especially his "blackflood" designs

Pretty much everyone bought this one....

If you wait for the tees to be $10 (a must) threadless is a great place to get some nice designs. I mean look at what dior releases for like $200 a pop, the graphics are pretty much hit or MISS too...

  2. Haven't checked the site in a while but I kinda like 'em. Loads of garbage, maybe even more than with a regular company, due to the way the graphics are selected, but if you search a little you can find some very interesting stuff. Their tees are cheaply made but the fit is good on me, I especially like how I get to show some belt after a few washings.

They lack a defined, identifiable identity and artistic direction but, again due to their business model, that is to be expected.

I'll try to post links to some of my tees when I visit their site again.

The only title I remember is "flowers in the attic"

  3. Visited H&M for the first time yesterday...didn't like the fit of the clothes (military inspired jackets and hoodies too boxy and tees so so, although I might get some stripped tees that had nicer cuts) but the accessories were great considering the extremely low price. I picked up some black necklace (Goro inspired?) and a linen black scarf (very julius, except less than 1/10 the price-not deconstructed though but I'm assuming it's cheap enough to do it on it's own :) ). You should check them out.

  4. Why would raws be hotter than any other jeans? They only thing I can think of is the darker color but if you are wearing any sort of pants it's gonna be hot.

Most raw jeans seem to be made of heavier denim, this kinda counts. It's a good idea to get some lighter denim for summer, loads of brands do them, Uniqlo even had a cotton/linen jean.

  5. Haha. I believe the designer's previous project was called Nuke. And yes, its VERY military/dark/gothic influenced this season. In fact, the boutique in Daikanyama used to have windows but they boarded it all up and put concrete on all the walls so its looks like a bomb shelter. At first, I thought the store went out of business cuz it was so dark...

Nuke, yeah that's it....the store changes sound pretty nice. You have two recent pickups I really like (julius boots and lithium homme? red leather jacket)

  6. What? Do you even know what the Armani looks like? This is exactly my point; you haven't even seen a picture yet you "don't like it" just because it isn't Dior Homme x Supreme, etc.

The boots are C&J's signature Chelsea boots

Brand snobishness on SF has been on the rize recently, it has reached pretty annoying levels too.

  7. you must be the most stylish dude in the michigan state history.

Hmm, I love the traditional american workwear look that you can see in movies like "the deer hunter" so a lot of people there are way beyond caring about fashion but can still look hella cool. Not that Coldrice is not a stylish dude, on the contrary his clothing taste rock.

  8. I was reading this NY Times article, and I felt kind of sad about consumerism overtaking the last bastions of cool. What do you guys think about the whole skull overload lately with Paris Hiltons and teeny boppers rockin' it without any underlying theme?

    From NY times.

Not that it was any less consumerist when it hadn't trinkled down to mainstream and only super-expensive fashion designers where pushing it...

  9. The curliness does not really bother me too much because sometimes I can take care of them, but it is the poofiness that really sucks. My hair looks best when it is slightly wet/damp.

    1) Use some sort of styling wax/paste (for exemple. black & white works pretty well)

    2) Get your hair trimmed often, otherwise it will always look poofy no matter how hard you try

  10. Ringring stopped posting here and on styleforum, I guess he took a break. I'm sure he'll come back at some point, he's too much of a jeans fanatic not to want to share the wealth of knowledge he has.

Mouko is still posting but quite infrequently

    Serge: no idea

  11. I went to Uniqlo in Ikebukuro last week and it seems like their selvage raw denim are out of stock or they don't make them anymore

Get a pair of their "ring denim", nice unwashed look (1-wash though), cut similar to APC new standards (modernised 501), ridiculous price like 3500 Yen or something.

  12. I'm a big fan of Kimura. He's still probably the most stylish Japanese entertainer around and looks good in everything he wears. What I love most about him is that he still retains the masulinity that I feel is lacking in a lot of new Japanese entertainers and it comes out in his clothes. I dunno what it is but it seems that Japanese guys seem to lack balls nowadays. Just look at all the models on Non-no; they are all very girly and feminine and frankly I feel its a bit too much for me...

I gotta give it to him, he's probably one of the only entertainer who got Dior right.

  13. there's a thread or two on the fit of apc pants, use the search fonction.

APC pants= slim fitted but not overly so, think New Standards. I love their cords.

    XS= +-28

    S= +-30

  14. If you feel comfortable in them, I'd say go for it. The fit looks good. You're a rock star, go get the groupies.

That's what I used to do wearing those pants (channeling my inner rock star) but it was a while ago and now they don't fit that well with my overall look, in fact I totally forgot about them before reading this thread and going "oh yeah, I got leather pants, where are those?" I might wear them again at some point when it gets colder and I find the right outfit, gotta keep those groupies on their toes with some styling changes :)

  15. I sold mine long time ago since it didn't stretch much in the waist the way I hoped it to be, and so it didn't get any much wear and was never washed. The thing is Cloak only makes pants in even number sizes. I wanted the in between size but can't. My guess is that since it's black denim and just like most black denim, they're harder to fade. I've seen my friend's pair and I hardly notice fading. I don't think Cloak made any denim that's blue.

Well I'm now a size 29 and I love how the 30 gives me some sort of slouchy effect while still having very slim and tappered legs.

You're probably right about the denim...
