  1. tragic, would like some input from you personally, actually.. my apc's fit like yours did on p 28. Did they stretch out of shape a lot?

No mine were about perfect... I could have even sized down MORE if I wanted to. I could button them up fully when I puchased them, it was a little tough to do, but I could get them buttoned. They were a size 28 and my waist measuers about a 31. I could have stretched out a size 27 if I wanted to, but I like a slouched fit.

  2. OUCH I SIZED DOWN 2 THEY FUCKING HURT! im starting to get dizzy... did anyone else size down 2 on apc standards? how do they fit after a week?

No, out of 4 thousand or so posts in this thread, you are the first person who ever sized down two and wanted to know how they turned out.

  3. Just got my first ever pair of A.P.C. jeans! I got a size 28 pair of New Standards (I wear 30-31 in other jeans) and they are pppretttttyyy tight! After like 2 hours of wear I can finally button the top button but not very comfortably. How long does it take to get them to stretch out a couple inches usually and do you have any tips for making them stretch faster? I like to wear my jeans a little lower on my hips so I'm hoping they stretch out 2-3 inches. Is that unrealistic?

Just wear them and forget about it. In a few days they'll be fine. In a few weeks they'll be perfect. And in a few months you'll be wearing a belt.

  4. I'm selling a pair of Nudie Slim Jim Dry Japans 29x34 that have been worn about five times and have had the pocket stitching removed. I'm also selling a pair of brand new with tags selvage "one wash" Johnbull Sewing Chop SC007's 29x32. I'm asking $80 + shipping for the Nudies and $168 + shipping for the Johnbulls. Here are links to the eBay auctions with Buy-It-Now options. If you want a lower price just bid and I'll let the market dictate what these go for. There are a ton of pictures included in each auction, go check them out.

  5. sorry to derail all the jp talk, but i'm a bit concerned about my italian 21cms

i'm only a week into them, buit it's been solid, all-day wear, and in some hot weather (i want to beat em up as much as possible before my fucking business casual job starts)

the crotch has already faded alarmingly fast

i know the denim ain't the best, but the crotch on tragic's still looked good at one year, and iirc he skated his, so i figured these were built tough

    i really don't think they're too small; they're 31s, and i'd say the fit's just about perfect - i think i'd be swimming in 32s

is it how i wear them? too slacked? not enough? par for the course? impending blowout?

    tragic? anyone?

I think you'll be fine. The wear after week could only be indigo fading. The fibers are still ok, it's just the color that is being worn off of them. I've blown the crotch out on some Nudies afer a few months and I can tell you after owning a few pairs of Diors, Italian and Japanese, that you don't really haev much to worry about with your MII's.

  6. Anyone have any recomendations for cheap eBay'd crank/sprocket? I want to get something in silver that is better than my old conversion's cranks that are super long and hit my frame when I ride. I am trying to get something a little bit more oldschool looking. Something classic looking and in silver.

There's a little blog that I check every once in a while... They're not cheap, but they are pretty fucking silver. SUGINO 75 Mirror Finish Crankset...

  7. Maybe there should be an Official Repair Thread in Superdenim...

Here are a pair of Nudie Greycast Slim Jims that I had repaired at Denim Doctors for $15. I don't have before photos which is stupid, but trust, the crotch on these was blown the fuck out. The light kind of makes the stitching look a little off, but in natural light it's pretty invisible, which is the "type" of repair that you can get at Denim Doctors, along with "patch" or whatever else they do.

You'd find more love on here if you lost the Jordans. Then again, there's a different crowd here than there was a few years ago, so what the fuck do I know?

Wait... I know Jordans look like space boots. Don't let your boyfriend force you to wear those.

  9. I couldn't tell you, I've only seen one pair on here and they were purchased off of eBay from some guy in Japan. Someone on here might remember who, but I can't.

  10. Not the first time we've seen raw black New Standards, but they look good. If they have these at the A.P.C. off Melrose, I might go take a look at the denim.

  11. I totally agree with you on this. It looks very costumey. It is something like what Luke Skywalker would totally wear on some supergay Star Wars flick. Sorry I'm just not feeling this jacket.

I can't believe APC would produce something like this. The color is totally bland and the fit not very flattering. It looks very stiff...like those jackets that were on sale at Wilson's.

I assumed the jacket was some vintage find for $50... I should've looked better, since the APC label is pretty prominent. Not a fan.

You guys need to understand that leather jackets NEVER look good new. He has to break the fuck out of that thing. Then it'll be all soft and supple and fit him right. Plus distressed white leather is on point.

  12. Just hot wash them dude. Diors don't have enough indigo in them to give you that gradient fading to make them worth the filth, they just go to the white weft.

I'm suprised this isn't discussed more often. More people should know this. I didn't start liking the way my raw indigos were turning out until something like the fifth wash.

  13. I am gonna pick up an IRO Mark V frame but hate the paint job on it, so I am looking to paint my frame and fork. I know this has probably been covered before in this thread, but couldn't find it searching around, does anyone know of a good guide for painting a frame/fork?

Are you in Los Angeles and willing to spend around a hundred bucks on it?

Seriously nice work. They can do pearl coats, gloss, etc.
