  1. I've lived in Denver almost my entire life (except for college), so here's what I see...Creativity is hard to find. Everything from restaurants to fashion to music seems a few years behind other 'trend cities' As far as jobs are concerned, most revolve around big companies, chains, technology, and health care. There are many smaller 'boutique' advertising/creative firms (i think the largest being McClain/Finlon) but are difficult to get into unless you have previous experience. I don't know much about Boulder, but more seems to be happening there as far as creativity. Otherwise, it's a great place to live if you enjoy the outdoors and enjoy a big city that is not too spread out.

I almost forgot to mention shopping! It's almost all malls but there are a few spots that are trying something different.

Although I hate on the lack of resources in this city, I still love it to death. Lemme know if you want more info.

  2. I'm just reminding heads to donate money to the Hurricane relief at redcross.org. Sometimes there's more important stuff to spend money on than jeans and sneakers.

    Have a good day.

  3. I don't see anything wrong with Kanye's sense of fashion, he's always well put together. He's always got dope pieces on, whether it's his shoes, belt, jacket or whatever. I think he's a fashion icon in the sense that people are always looking at what he's wearing whether you agree or disagree with his style. Atleast his line won't be huge baggy jeans and XXXL t's like the rest of rappers' lines.

  4. I think 'streetwear' goes much deeper than just clothing. 'Streetwear' embodies a person's lifestyle (music, hobbies, political views, etc...). I don't think 'Streetwear' was ever about the clothing but more about being an individual among the sea of cookie-cutter, mainstream sheeps. It was about wearing clothing that embodied who you are; clothing that contained meaning and gave you more satisfaction than just looking good.

'Streetwear' is also only completely understood by a small portion of society. For example, if you see someone wearing Supreme or Bape, you (anyone on this board) have a good idea what kind of 'stuff' they are into. Or if you see someone with selvage denim, they probably know about the same 'stuff' as the kid wearing Bape. But, people not into 'streetwear' might think the Bape design is cool or the selvage jeans look good, but they won't understand what it really stands for.

In the end, 'Streetwear' is misleading to us (Superfuture heads). I feel people not into this 'scene' would define 'streetwear' as baggy jeans, hoodies, etc. But mention 'streetwear' to a SF head, and a completely different world of clothing/lifestyle/views comes to mind.

  5. I think this has been posted before, but I couldn't find it with a search. Does anyone know the significance of the selvege color as related to the country of manufactuting? I have a pair where one side of the selvage is light blue and the other side is white, but I can't figure out where they were made.

  6. I find when carousing all these online sites/forums it takes a lot of hand/finger work on my iBook touchpad. To prevent cramping, I always remember to stretch each finger for 1 minute for every 2 hours online finding the most obscure street fashion hype. Hope this tips helps this thread back to it's original path. Godspeed.

  7. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with buying sunglasses on the bay (namely Gucci). I know all the cliches: 'if the price is too good to be true, blah blah blah"...but, does anyone have experience dealing with reputable sellers. Get at me, thanks.

  8. I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but you're probably gonna recieve hate for this post if you're serious. Paper Denims were already popularized by many celebs a few years ago, and are bashed by some on this site for being 'played out', too light weight denim, too processed, and many other criticisms associated with designer denim. I for one, have a few pairs. I really like the cuts, and most of the washes. They are the best fitting denim I've tried (if you like bootcut styles). They retail about $150-$200. It shouldn't be hard to find a pair in stores.

  9. The best way would probably be 1) contact Nike, and 2) Talk to friends/peers who have stores with Nike accounts and get them as references for your store.

I heard it ain't easy, good luck.
