  1. ok. this thread is looking like an episode of air crash investigation.

its like superfuture is the airline, supertalkers are the passengers, uniqlo is paying for the tickets and in-flight entertainment, OMC is the chief steward, the mods are the crew, superADS runs the airport and i man the control tower at ATC.

flight S-000 took off ok from but we forgot the safety drill to explain that this flight was indeed FREE and paid for by a happy and supportive sponsor. this led to a bit of discussion concerning the quality of the plane and airline. most people were quite satisfied but as expected a few roudy individuals got rotten seats next to the vomitting baby and had a whinge. shortly after take-off drinks were served - supercontest04 - again everyone was pretty impressed but then we hit turbulence shortly before lunch. OMC was kept busy checking to see if everyone had their selvage denim seat belts fastened below their uniqlo belt buckles but the rough weather flung a few passengers completely out of their seat and they got rather bad head injuries. superfuture decided to give OMC a much deserved smoke break, but then we realized no-one was actually flying the plane!? at that point ring ring, paulT, and a few others busted down the kevlar cockpit door and took the controls and while both are experienced and well respected superfuture pilots they unknowingly knocked the autopilot switch and the plane has changed direction and started to head for terrain.

as your chief air traffic controller, we need to get this flight back on course or it will face imminent disaster. we may have to divert to supertrash.

please note that the airline acknowledges there have been a few procedural miscalculations made on this flight and there will be an internal investigation. the findings will soon be published on superofficial. so please keep your related comments until that time and that thread...

in the meantime please sit back and enjoy your uniqlo pretzels.

    :)

  2. as you probably all know superfuture sydney needs a major overhaul and we currently have no one working on it...

that means updating the superfuture maps and also working on the sydney PDF superguide...

if you can write and know where everything is in syd -- that means not only denim and sneaker stores -- but also galleries, restaurants, bars, etc etc..

it also helps if you can use illustrator and indesign.

    pm me if interested!

i might also post on superofficial - but seems like everyone in syd is on this thread anyway...

  3. yep. stay at rubenshof and say hello to hans [one of the owners] from me. he helped to do many of the original superfuture antwerp reviews!

Bump. Going there in two weeks. I know the major shopping scene well - looking for designer consignment stores and stores that have young designers. Also, any hotel recommendations for under $150 (or even $100) would be appreciated. I found this place, looks very quaint and cheap, and it's in Zuid, which works.

  4. 1. he posted a particularly distasteful pic of some geriatric gay orgy in the original post that i had to delete

    2. he then went off on a supersperm tirade and continuing personal attacks on chris - justified by rampant homophobia...

    3. he got negative repped by enough people that his rep plummeted in the red [including neg rep comments by many of the mods - which should have been taken as fair warning]

    4. then he added really vile homophobic tags which i had to delete

    5. a few more homophobic insults to chris

    6. decision to terminate made

    7. decision executed

  5. agree. not one manufacturer in japan will comply. the japanese legal system is about as tough and rigid as a bowl of tofu. besides - the domestic demand for all these brands far outweighs what they sell outside of japan anyway. they might just decide to bring out a few 'export models' down the line. the sky hasn't melted just yet.

Isn't anyone in this forum a lawyer? Even Niketalk's got a couple...

I doubt that Japanese companies will comply by Friday's deadline. I don't know of a US Court that can impose an order to stop manufacturing in Japan. Was it the World Court? While I'm certain that US stockists (BIG, SE) will want to adhere to avoid a suit - until this is rectified or they're granted an injunction - I doubt a single Japanese manufacturer will comply immediately...

  6. can someone please make a list of all these magazine/press articles that mentioned supertalk - we usually have no idea of who is mentioning it - and no way to track this... better still, please scan and post the article in this thread... that would be super! thx.!

.. And could this be attributed to the magazine articles that have mentioned this forum?
  7. we are looking at ways of making regular superfuture events in different cities so keep this thread going with all ideas and we will decide which ones might be viable and follow up on it. obviously organizing events and parties requires quite a bit of coordination and planning - particularly when everyone is scattered all over the planet. i am going to be back in new york around june and that would be the obvious time and place for us to do something there, so stay tuned.

  8. greetings from superfuture mission control on the opposite side of earth..

    enjoy your party all superfuturites!

thanks again to kiya and self edge for organizing this event and for everyone else who has made the extraordinary efforts to get to san fran! wish i could be there to meet you guys but unfortunately this time the planets weren't in alignment...

    cheers
