Launch dates - info request

Hi everyone,

i'm doing some research for an article on the emergence of Japanese vintage denim brands and wondering if you can help by telling me which years the following started trading: -

PRPS

Iron Heart

Samurai Jeans

Warehouse 1950 Duckdigger

It may just be a case of checking out their websites which I can't do being English!!

Also, I'm looking for some interesting stories related to these brands and other japanese ones around in the early 1990s. For example, how Sugar Canes were born out of a cotton shortage after World War II, that sort of thing....

Plus if any of you are true experts on the history of vintage denim and would be willing to be interviewed please get in touch. Payment can be negotiated.

Prps isn't a "vintage Japanese denim brand," and they're not very old. They started somewhere around 2002 or 2003, IIRC.

Japanese brands haven't just "emerged" simply because Americans have finally started to be interested (like about last year...) --- the denim 'boom' in Japan took place in the late 1980's/1990's, and has been going on in Europe for at least five years. This is not something 'new'.

And yes, as Minya says, PRPS is not a Japanese brand; and Iron Heart started only a couple of years ago.
