Tentatively, January 6th for retail. I’ve seen this date more than once. 

Retail should be closer to/during last week of September. None of the retailers around me have received any shipping confirmations.

They do. I have a gen 1 pair in XL. It was my second pant I’ve owned from them and the XL sat for months on the mothersite.

Check your local public library. Depending on the city, They usually have maker spaces you can try. Just be aware that there is some nuance with 3D printing. 
 

For example, the ones we have in the office have a resolution of a 0.01mm and the one I have at home is 0.1mm. Public use will likely have a resolution of 1mm - makes it harder to reproduce fine details or hide layer lines.

The ankle zip in the front is a bit weird - I assumed it would be a little more narrow. For that reason I think I prefer them unzipped. Otherwise, I just put them on and sat back on the couch. 
 

I strained my back so I won’t be walking around much for a few days.

Fine for me in winter, but you may want to level set your expectations depending on your hot/cold tolerance. I’d argue they’re a bit more hot in the summer than they are cold in the winter. 

What size are you? It you’re an XL then lemme take those P24A-S off of you

I’ve tried to get material directly from Schoeller through work (cycling industry) and their sample costs are very high along with a relatively high MOQ. I’m very unfamiliar with the world of textiles and garment fabrication, however, I’d still love to get my hands on some.

My thoughts exactly. If it was 1200-1600€ maybeeee, but that’s too many shells to especially as the temperature rises with the seasons. Man...growing up is fun.
