  1. my 1001XX, been wearing this jeans since 2019, I really like the raw fabrics at the beginning.

However it started to feel lighter & drapey after few months.

I always suspect it is the due to the heavy use of starch, because my previous experience with

Japanese fabrics is very different, they stay sturdy and stiff after many washes.

Since I am working with China denim industries and know that some denim mill accelerate the use of starch to make denim

heavier in a cheaper way :))

I was quite disappointed with warehouse as it was not what I expected, but I still wear it quite often as I was living in HongKong and

the wider fit & lighter weight is perfect for the summer time..

After two years the beauty of the fabrics revealed.....that vintage

"spot" is just amazing. It feels light

Somehow HongKong is no longer a good place for my kids & I fled to Edinburgh and feel this jeans is too light to wear in winter lol

The first photo is closer to real color

  2. Red cast indigo, aka pure indigo ( no sulphur dye mix)

Green cast indigo ( a bit extreme though, there are a lot of mild greencast in japanese denim that you can tell by the greenish hue),

Sorry for the terrible background it was taken long time ago at my work place.

Definitely agree with this, pricing for a lot of their stuff seems to have gotten out of hand which is why I don't really keep up with the brand anymore.

I don't think anyone really knows, since this is an entirely new denim.
Depending on the dying technique natural indigo has a tendency not to fade very much, however these seem to age more quickly than I'd expect.
The fit pics for the webshop online look slightly faded already.

From the photo & video we can tell that this indigo yarn is dyed by rope dye. So the core is white.

I guess it probably fades like synthetic indigo that is rope dyed?

A lot of  natural indigo denim produced by Japanese are said to be done by " hank dye" which keep the yarn soaking indigo thus the core is not white

(this is also a myth as I never owned one or saw a cross section photo like above of hank dye yarn)

I think Some 45r jeans are using natural indigo in rope dye too, boncoura is cheaper if we compare to 45r :)

  4. @Lazerr

I bought it from Alphashadow 3 years ago, just went with my actual waist size + 10% shrinkage for the initial soak.
Its a pity that Alphashadow is no longer carrying them or even going out of business

I spent some time visiting my partner in Philadelphia. The museum was closed, but the weather and walking was beautiful. I wish I'd taken some photos of how Brewerytown is gentrifying. You literally have brand new "luxury" renovations directly next door to burned out houses. I think I finally figured out the reason behind that horrific aluminum paneling all over these corporate developments. It appears to cover plywood exterior walls where the brick can't be salvaged. A couple pics of the denim and the inimitable James Baldwin.

"(The police) are a very real menace to every black cat alive in this country. And no matter how many people say, 'You're being paranoid when you talk about police brutality' - I know what I'm talking about. I survived those streets and those precinct basements and I know. And I'll tell you this - I know what it was like when I was really helpless, how many beatings I got. And I know what happens now because I'm not really helpless. But I know, too, that if he (police) don't know this is Jimmy Baldwin and not just some other n****r he's gonna blow my head off just like he blows off everybody else's head. It could happen to my mother in the morning, to my sister, to my brother...For me this has always been a violent country - it has never been a democracy."

It might not be good to talk too much politics here but here are the comments from HongKong, police brutality is everywhere.

Last year during HongKong protest there are more than 7000+ protester arrested & 0 police was charged for anything. Now we lose freedom of speech, we cannot say anything against the government publicly or even privately. There are always people living worst than you, so we have to cherish what we have at the moment.

  6. Hi Guys to sorry ask a newbie question....

I have a regular 1001xx and I am wondering if it is "banner denim"?

I am confused as they have D.D limited edition and seems the D.D one are more sought after?
