  1. I just measured my most best fitting "size 34" TCB Seamen Trousers by aligning the front and back waist band together that read (17"/34"), which seems about right.

I measured my waist (below the belly) as 37"! I then went ahead and began to measuring up and down from hip to waist trying to find the lowest reading (36") whistle holding the measure tape firmly...

Why am I able to wear size 34 TCB comfortably yet my waist/hip measurement is off 3 inches?

  2. Has anyone purchased from the official Warehouse Japan site using the order form? If I want a pair of jeans hemmed do I just leave a message on the comment section? "Warehouse Lot 1206 USN UTILITY DENIM PANTS" has a stencil on the hem. Can Warehouse replace the stencil on the new hem?

  4. Has anyone used Recourture to change their sneaker outsoles to resole-able Vibrams? I tried emailing them (no reply) and clicking the international option (via CDJapan) which when translated doesn't make sense to me. Do I make payment with CDJapan then send a pair of sneakers to Japan?

Had a catchup with a couple of old friends yesterday. Rob Newman (who was a student of mine, then an intern, and is now working on various exciting things while being an accessories designer for Stone Island) was wearing his pair of woad dyed 130s. 6 and a half years old, worn twice a week for that whole time and with 3 or four rounds of repairs. They look amazing!

special mention also to his belt- I introduced Rob to Morten, of For Holding Up The Trousers, and Rob worked with him in Copenhagen. This is a belt he made during that time:

How much of the taper do you lose if you hem the inseams from 36” inches to 30”. Will the hem openning and “fit” change significantly and be noticeable.

As I would like to preserve the intended fit but too short to pull off an 8” cuff.

^Not really sure what I'm looking for to be honest lol

Wore Maine Boots (the green heritage ones) a few years back and they certainly did the job but unfortunately wore down within one season due to all the city/concrete walking. Looking for something a bit lighter, flexible, non-ubiquitous, and was thinking some of the modern winter hiking boots could do the trick. I think my aesthetic has gone so far off the sufu look the past few years but as time goes on (and I get lazy) I'm getting more into practical clothing that's pretty drab lol...Need my footwear to catch up!

Finally got a pic of my Yuketen Ghillie Mocs.

I thought we could upload pics straight from a desktop? I can't seem to remember how to do that?

I have 3 Yuketen mocs, love them all.

Aesthetically they’re amazing but they do have design flaws in regards to their mocs.

I’m surprised no one ever mentions anywhere how the Maine mocs don’t provide any heel support as there is no stiffner or stiff leather that supports the sides or back. (The back strap doesn’t actually provide support especially once the leather soften/ages).

It’s not nessassarilly a problem with 5”+ models as you can wrap the laces around for support.

But for the hand sewn oxford type models with Vibram 2021 or rocker outsole, it’s a real hazard twisting your ankles.

What’s the point of having a steel shank in the sole if the rest of shoe has no support.

    end rant.
