    Sure you can :)

I'm enjoying my j46-ws and it's pretty plain, especially since I prefer to tuck the outer pocket flaps in.

BTW, what are my fellow j46 owners using those two low zippered pockets on the sides for?

Gloves.  I stashed my Cav Empt pair, separately, in each pocket for quick access to them when required.

Nope. And I asked them about this. Their response was "Regarding your query on VAT, we do not reduce the pricing for orders outside the EU."

If you order from 18 Montrose and you live outside the EU, you're paying too much.

    SMH.  Thanks for the info.

I was extremely impressed with 18montrose, I'm in southern california, I ordered a J48 on Monday and was wearing it on Wednesday. Plus no additional tax or shipping.

Curious to know if they remove the VAT at checkout?

I haven't personally found any good uses for myself yet since it puts my arms in an awkward position in order to access those pockets however the left pocket seems best for things that you want to keep dry (i.e cigarettes??)

Something tells me we'll receive an Acronymjutsu tutorial soon enough.

If we're doing the release-prep posts now might as well get this one out of the way. US duties cheat codes.

If you order a jacket valuing over $800 from Acronym and you live in the USA, you'll be paying painfully high duties.

HOW TO LOWER YOUR DUTIES IF YOU LIVE IN THE USA

    UPS Brokerage accounting department 866-493-7140
Give them your tracking number and tell them that you have a package due to arrive and it isn't classified as specifically as it should be. And as a result of its vague classification, the duties are set way too high. This is actually true.
They might be able to change the classification right then and there, but sometimes they will tell you that you need to speak to the agent in charge of your package and they will give you the number for that office. If they don't just call the Dallas office. They usually have their shit together there.
UPS Shipping and logistics Dallas office 972-304-6978
If you give them your tracking number they should direct you to an agent in charge of your package. Explain to them your situation. They will probably give you a classification that Acronym specified (6203.33.xxxx) which has a duty rate of 27% which is insanely high. Tell them that the classification is not necessarily incorrect, but it's just not specific enough. Give your agent the following classification numbers:
    6201.99.8010 - for Cotton (Stotz)
6201.99.8020 - for Wool (LP - that would be a pleasant surprise)
6201.99.8030 - for synthetics (SS, WS or GT)
This changes your rate to something like 4% and saves you hundreds of dollars.

Once your agent confirms the rate change...
UPS bill pay - 803-502-2525. Call these people and pay your lowered duties.

Much thanks again to CARLOOA for tracking down those classification numbers.

Any idea whether or not you can apply this to a package you've already received and paid duties for?  My J1A-GT had a monstrous duty attached to it which I wouldn't mind refuting, if at all possible.

ACRONYM INTEROPS: right back side water resistant zip for interfacing with 3a bags usually terminated at the hem with press buttons
ACRONYM SOUND: velcro backed magnetic strip for holding IEMs on collar
ACRONYM TEC SYS: standard molle attachment webbing for external attachment.
    ForceLock: See acronym sound
JacketSling: sling for wearable carrying jacket without holding it, consists of a slider, pull, and elastic. Newer models feature backside carry rather than the interior carry.
EscapeZip: YKK proprietary zip that allows for quick doffing with a pull at the collar termination of the zipper.
SpeedLock: shockcord hem that allows one handed tightening, webbing pull.
Gravity Pocket: two way 5mm zipped pockets on the interior forearm arm that feature a in-sleeve press pocket that allow for item deployment with a swift downward motion.
    AuxZip: liner integration.

We really should make an Acronym Wiki.

I second that.  Thanks for the nomenclature.  I myself wanted the entire listing.

Oh I didn't know there were size difference between the -S and -CH because both my P10s are -S. I'll take a picture later to show how much of difference. First thing that I noticed was I was able to zip without needing the DS stretch and my calves were not too constricted. Also, theres a lot of space around my thighs and quads.

A very helpful previous post broke it down as such:

    S- Tight

    CH- Loose

    DS- Looser

Regardless of whether or not 'the bot problem' exists for Acronym drops, I do appreciate that other users have guided me to the right places. I am new to higher end fashion and exploring several different styles at the moment so am not aware of a lot of the smaller retailers that carry these brands. I was able to cop a J1TS-S in my size and am very excited to receive my first outerwear from Acronym (I have a couple of their sneakers already and they are my favorite shoes in my wardrobe).

However, as a new member I do wish that the older members wouldn't so quickly throw the newbies under the bus and threaten to abandon the community. There might be some trend-following hype-beasts that join the wave and others who are simply buying to resell for profit but please consider that there are definitely a group of people who have just been introduced to a style that they believe fits their persona and character and try to welcome us with a warmer embrace - some of us just might stick around long enough to become a veteran like you.

Either way, I'm glad I've been experimenting with different fits lately and am very excited to receive my Acrnm. Thanks to everyone here who volunteered information without prejudice or expectation of anything in return.

Can't say I disagree.  Most were up on Acronym since the days of low fidelity videos and are just now able to delve into these pieces.  I myself unleashed a berserker barrage on most of the SS-16 through FW-16/17 line early last year and am now fully up-armored.  None of it is going anywhere.  To the OG's, it only gets better.

Found some MZ3 replicas online. Very good copies but if you look closely you can see that the zip isn't olive.

Got my shipping notice too, I ordered P10TS and 3A-MZ3s in separate orders but got one shipping notice. This kinda concerns me because the order for the P10s alone are under the 1000AUD threshold, and I paid the 50 euro shipping fee twice. Does anybody know if Acronym's gonna ship my orders together?

    They'll ship separately.  They're considerate.

All signs point to another drop some time soon. We can only hope.

I'm guessing P10TS in S and CH, foil bags and more and different foil modulars, maybe that leather looking jacket that E hasn't taken off since January.

More foil...  :ph34r2:  Then I wonder why people are starting to tell me I look like a futuristic vagrant.  BTW, am I the only one who feels sorry for the shirts?  Nobody wants shirts?

For the most part, yes. Europe is usually cheaper if buying from US. But even in the US, it depends on retailer.

Worst retailer? Kith. Second worst? Union, especially if you live in Cali.

    Best? Bureaubelfast

Agreed regarding The Bureau.  I've never seen orders get tossed up so quickly.  They're Johnny Mnemonic with their FedEx account.

  13. 15 minutes ago, Voyager said:

Agreed. I was luckily able to cop one as well as both sets of modulars. Such a shame so few modulars dropped. I can see why its a divisive jacket, but I love it. Instant classic IMO

Amen on the shamefulness of the low modular count.  3A-MZ4 around the corner maybe?

Is there like bot to cop on ACRNM or you guys are just on fire ?

    think I'm gonna keep my $$ for F/W !

I don't think there are bots, I think we as a race are turning into bots.  PayPal on AutoFill, multiple payment methods and twitter fingers.  There's a war going on outside no man is safe from...

Never had the J1A, but i just don't find S to be a good layering piece. its a great standalone piece though, but it also has the zippers for J58-WS (More J58 coming soon)

    More J58?  Tell me more...

Never really liked S jacket tbh cause it feels heavy. Only bought this because I think it looks cool as shit, and i have a few MPs to spare. I wish they would make this a GT in the future, but the S jacket ain't cheap already.

Compared to the J1A-GT fit, how would you say this stacks up in terms of layering?  I can currently throw my J1A-GT over my J46-WS and effectively look like Vader.  Think this'll stand up well with that combo in colder climates?

no offense mang but ppl need to give up on the j1ts, it's not going to grow on you :(

I don't know about that one.  Opinions seem to abound without seeing the full range.  I see the hate mighty morphing into lust once we see some fire britches modular drop and then everyone goes J1TS nuts.

  18. 2 hours ago, yankees19032002 said:

Yes, but there are many ways to attach the MPs. The whole point of tec sys is for you to get creative.

Yeah, yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about.  From my perspective, it's something that fits into their DNA.  I didn't understand all the hoopla about it being 'too much'.  I think that canted outcome there is more or less what they envisioned happening with a piece like this.
