Had a reply back apologising but just recommending getting any old tailor to fix. It doesn't bother me massively tbh but felt like I had to at least get some feedback from them considering how much I shelled out.

I got the same exact reply.

Weird! To be clear, you're talking about the external pocket, right? (There are no internal pockets)

Yes. The jacket only has two pockets. One of mine has stitching missing at the bottom of the pocket. If I put my hand in it, my fingers go through the bottom of the pocket into the elastic mesh, which is still intact.

  3. Wearing J62 for the first time today. Discovered that the stitching at the bottom of the left side pocket bag is missing. Wondering if there's anyone else out there with the same issue or if I just got lucky.

Can I get my duties down? Look for Voyager's post in page ~355–360. If you have particular questions, you can ask me.

I'm working on an updated guide on that with updated phone numbers and hts codes (I will need your help CARLOOA). Apparently some of the info in that post just doesn't work anymore.

    ^ very nice

for those with the j61, are you guys sizing down? I know it's meant to be worn loose but the measurements look really big.

TTS myself as well. And definitely my favorite as well. There are just so many ways of wearing the jacket and it seems to look great no matter how you wear it.

Anyone have experience shrinking P10A-S in the washer/dryer?

I didn't intentionally shrink my P10-S, but they've definitely shrunk and faded after washing a number of times. I have never put them in the dryer, but I can imagine that you could probably do some serious shrinking that way.

  7. A friend of mine just showed me this today and it might be common knowledge, but I figured some of you may not know this already -

Paypal by default converts foreign currency themselves and uses a currency rate that benefits Paypal, not the consumer. Some of us are getting screwed on currency exchange when buying from foreign retailers

You can tell Paypal to bill you in the currency of the retailer. Go to Profile > Payments > My Preapproved Payments > Set Available Funding Sources > Conversion Options

Now you might end up getting screwed by your bank or credit card company on the exchange rate in addition to possible fees that would accompany the transaction, but that would depend on the financial institution you deal with. In my case, my bank's exchange rate is significantly better than paypal.

^ Was checking P24 prices earlier today and still found them totally comparable w/ other stateside retailers (ex. Bodega, everyone is ranging between $700-750USD). Refusing to deduct the VAT for non-EU export is still a bitch move tho.

w/o VAT, they'd be @ $615, which would beat everyone but Bodega. FWIW, I ended up ordering from 18Montrose w/ the idea that I'd 'discuss' when they open up on Monday...

To complete their statement on VAT they added this "For your reference, this is a matter we are looking into but our current website build does not have a function for it."

Curious to know if they remove the VAT at checkout?

Nope. And I asked them about this. Their response was "Regarding your query on VAT, we do not reduce the pricing for orders outside the EU."

If you order from 18 Montrose and you live outside the EU, you're paying too much.

It says 'Posted 2016-11-17'... for me.

That video was posted at a strange time when it came too, not coinciding with any release.

Yeah they originally posted it then. The J1A-GT sold out shortly afterwards. They removed the video back in February. Reposted it again two days ago.

  11. Ok so my J48-BR has sling attachments but didn't come with a sling. Did anyone's come with a sling?

I'm assuming this is the way it comes since there's no mention of a sling on the product page.

So it looks like J1TS-S should be 6201.99.8010?

Either way, is there a list of duty percentages that we can expect for each category of textile/good? Searched the ol' Google for "6201.99.8010" and there were 3 relevant hits (2 of this thread).

Section XI, chapters 61 and 62

Yeah. 6205.90.40 is for shirts. My oversight as well.

This absolute madman is at it again. Coming through with code after code.

Hey what's the code for a jacket that looks like leather but ain't? ;)

Hey guys. Let me tell you my experience using this. After calling the above Dallas number and getting transfered a couple times finally got to someone that could help me. I bought a S19-DS and a LA6B-DS. Total price I paid including shipping is $920. Got the UPS email and it told me my brokerage fees were $150.

Gave the agent my tracking number and I literally followed the script above saying I had an updated classification number that's more accurate etc. He confirmed with me that I was buying a shirt and T-shirt. As soon as I said the 6201 class number he stopped me right there and said thats a chapter only for overcoats, ski jackets, and stuff like that. Doesn't include shirts. I told him I didn't do my research enough and that I didn't have any other class numbers to give him.

He told me to hold on a second and after a few minutes he said he was able to find a number (didn't tell me what) and that best he could do is get my fee down to $80. I said I'll take it and he's going to update it and I'm going to pick up my package later today. Very kind fellow. He could've easily told me he couldn't do anything and that I would just have to pay. Anyways that's my experience.

Thanks again carloola for the info

Sorry guys. The guide for duties only applies to jackets. It will require some research from some dedicated individuals to hunt for the codes for pants, shirts, and bags. However most of the time you can just do separate shipments for those items and keep the total price of goods under the $800 limit. Most of the time this is impossible with jackets which is why this guide is useful. Probably should have specified that originally.

Do you think it has anything to do with the material? I own both as well and don't feel that much a difference when layering. I just feel like GT just offers little to no stretch.

All of my Stotz garments felt roomier when I bought them. They all have shrunk about 2-3% over time, which is to be expected being cotton and all. Perhaps the J1TS-S was cut looser with future potential shrinkage in mind.

Is there an online resource anywhere that explains all the technical aspects of the fabric used in Acronym clothing (and techwear in general)? Also, any resources that explain or show what each of the systems/tech do in Acronym clothing? For example:

    ACRONYM INTEROPS
    ACRONYM SOUND
    ACRONYM TEC SYS
    ForceLock
    JacketSling
    EscapeZip
    SpeedLock
    Gravity Pocket
    AuxZip

I know what a lot of these things are and do but a resource would be really neat to help familiarize myself with the features that I have not experienced or read about yet especially when it comes to exploring new pieces.
