Why do people/companies continue to insist that wearing your jeans unwashed for a prolonged period is somehow a fashion grail, or secret to success?!  Annoying!

Well the Levis CEO said it so it must be true.(Had a conversation with a friend who is not into denim and when the topic of raw denim was brought up he immediately referenced the Levis CEO's remarks on wearing for a year before washing and his talking points to why.)

I’ve officially burned out on the whole denim/clothing/brand craze. Don’t get me wrong, I still like what I have but I now have zero desire to accumulate more  stuff. Any of you experience this?

Yes and no. I don't have a desire to accumulate more but, when needed I have a short list of what I would buy when needed. That said I'm looking forward to sending in a pair of jeans to indigo proof for a second repair.

    Geeman none taken.

I work construction for a living I need actual work boots than can hold up to tough conditions I work in. Most of these boots in this thread wouldn’t last a week doing what I do  haha

Honestly they don’t take long at all to take on and off or lace.

I have had my smokejumpers save my ankle and possibly more when carying doors around on construction sites. I'm likely to replace mine with Wesco Jobmasters when the time comes since I like a lower arch in my boots and my other pair of Wescos have been getting used way more for work lately.

Just the 10' height with mp toe.  Unlike my White's that are for sale, my Boss boots will be in boring Black tie leather in all black again with mini 430 sole.

Sweet sounds similar to mine. I got a pair of the 7400 in the wider MP toe last.(I had to ask if they would make it first as it is supposed to be a "stock" build)

That's probably the case. When I was young I just wore size 8 sneakers and all was basically good, but extra toe space in a stiffer shoe or boot drives me nuts. I'll get measurements, but probably will save up for a custom job rather than buy something stock that's too long.

    Thanks!

If you are interested in the offerings from Wesco they do offer making a custom last for your foot. Also Role Club offers custom sizing. While the cost of the Role Clubs are higher in pricing up front Wesco's are likely to cost similar if you do go the custom last route.

I hear you. I have some good T-Shirts that aren't loop wheeled. I like my Lady White tubular tees. This Japan blue tee is just a regular tee with side seams. While that doesn't mean it isn't any good, I am after loop wheeled tees for once. We can almost say there is good denim out there that isn't selvedge. But that isn't of much interest around these parts. I just wish loop wheeled tees were available in bigger sizes.

I recently got the Flat Head in XXL and the rite stuff in XL as well as Merz B. Schwanen in XXL. I found these ones work for me. Also the IH 2017 model is 46-47" in the chest in XXL. All of these are all tubular. I also like the Whitesville pocket T but, I don't know if they are loopwheeled.

Yeah he went stock with his SJ.  Had he got measured and custom ordered, dealing with the fire season wait times now, it would've been a different story.

The soft unstructured toe on mine looked similar prior to them resoled. They were a custom order that I got measured for.

In all seriousness, dive watches have peaked my interest in why they are so popular for casual wear. They're chunky by nature, and I think part of the appeal is balancing utility with aesthetics. I get that there's a lot of heritage, the rotating bezel is a cool feature, and for sure they generally look great. But they are designed for a very specific purpose and there aren't many other circumstances where such features and robustness are warranted. I plan to get a diver at some point, (don't know which one yet), and one of the main reasons is the extra water resistance. I don't dive, I fly fish a lot and I'd like a watch that I know I don't have to worry about getting submerged.

That is the reasoning that lead me to going with the SRP779. The balance of utility and aesthetics as well as the robustness.

Has anyone here actually tried to put insurance on their shoes or boots?  Just curious.  Have no idea if this is even possible.

edit:  apparently, you can put insurance on them.

I have herd that you can insure pretty much anything granted your are willing to pay for it and a person who can write up the policy. I have herd of high end glass art that is used for smoking being insured as art.

  10. For the wesco engeneers, if the size works and you don't want to go through the custom options I highly recommend looking at the Boss 7400's. It is a model that they keep in stock. The build is is the one they did for the Narrow boss for Wesco Japan but, just their black domain leather and no HH. Dude's Wesco's do look like they have most of the hallmarks of the 7400 build.(MP Toe, 30's? style stitching)

I have a pair on 7400's that I did have to custom order as I have superwide feet using their wider MP toe last after getting the OK from Wesco. I do agree some builds done for shops do have nicer options than a direct custom order.

Well, I bought my first Langlitz....hoodie.  Ordered it through the phone from their shop as they don't currently offer a webshop.  Can't wait to wear it as the ones offered in Japan/Lahaina etc are too expensive IMO for made in USA.  Langlitz Japan just does the screen printing while the sweatshirts are sent directly from Langlitz.  Next Langlitz will be leather as I haven't worn a nice leather jacket in years.

If you do get a chance to goto Portland I highly recommend visiting their shop. When I bought my Langlitz I got to try on a few sizes for their off the rack options to see what worked best for me. I'm pretty lucky since I work about a mile a way from their shop.
