I am in the Bahamas and know your pain.  Second Sugar Cane.  Strike Gold 11XX denim is very breathable but their cuts are pretty slim and can get annoying in the heat.   I find looser cuts works best.  Freewheelers 1951 denim is pretty comfortable in the heat.

Can anyone with the 601XX 1951 comment on the size of the pocket openings?  How big are they/ease of use?

Thats awesome.  One of many reasons why he and his products are so respected.  

You can also consider the 1001 if you don’t mind 16oz denim.  Another slim straight cut, not quite as slim as the 3001 with a slightly higher back rise.  

I’m down.  Count me in

That has been some of the feedback but this is my first go with a jubilee and I love it.  Much more comfortable than the oyster bracelet.

I can't really comment on the manufacturing process but I have 2 pairs in different colors, both are a few years old and look really well for their age and use.  Very solid construction and they should last a long time.  

I'm with goodrain, I have the white ones and I wear the same size in them as chucks and Lofgren sneakers.  They do have a slightly wider/roomier fit than the others mentioned and that may give the impression of a larger fit.   Lengthwise, they are about the same to me.
